Cravings..

I really blew it today.. I couldn't stay under my calories to save my life.. The thing is, I wasn't craving carbs or proteins, I was literally craving fat!

All I could think about while driving home from work was eating spoonfuls of butter.. When I got home, I made some fat bombs.. And ate a spoonful of coconut manna... And some duck fat, blended with salsa.. (Mmmm)

It's not like I didn't have any fats all day or anything, or even like I did any strenuous work today (other than usual) I've been eating more and more fats lately.. Not sure if the weight is gonna keep coming off at this rate.. Which is ok since I'm really close to my goal, but I really don't want to put any back on.

Funny too, as I was really emotional before I ate all of the fats.. (Just finished shark week, so I don't think it was that) then after gorging myself on all the yummy fat, all was right with the world!

I'm really curious to know if anyone here has any sort of similar experience.. Everything I've searched for online comes back with carb cravings (not fats)

Thank you!

I think I would watch the tape measure and trust that your cravings are what your body needs at this moment.

I agree. Some days it is crazy how much fat that I eat but it does not show up on the scales like I expected. After two years of LCHF I am still hovering around 200 pounds but somehow I have lost a little in waist size of late. Some days I get crazy with protein. Thankfully the carb cravings have not returned for the past two years.

For the last two years I have not counted or weighed food but I do weigh myself daily to get my net CICO results.

Oh yep. I have days like that. 3000 kcal later I finally feel full. And then the next day is only a 1000kcal more often than not.

You're normally being pretty mindful of your intake so I wouldn't worry about one day.

I have had the same experience and I find it better to just indulge. I usually cook up some bacon and/or chicken skin with salt as a treat. Maybe I am just craving salt? Either way, it has had no impact on fat loss and usually only lasts a short while.

It happens to me too...I eat all day long. I'm really careful to keep my carbs down but I've learned when those days hit I just go with them and not worry about the entire pepperoni stick covered in a block of cheese I just ate.
