Hi,
I am wanting to take a magnesium supplement. I know that I need one that ends in -ate. I'm having a hard time finding one to take. I have tried the Doctor's Best High Abosrption 100% Chelate which is a magnesium sterate, but the pills are huge with a dry white consistence. I've almost chocked on it a few times because it starts to fall about when I put it in my mouth and then gets rough.
I have also tried the Nature Made Magnesium Citrate softgels. These are huge, but the have a softgel covering so I don't choke on them, BUT they are 2 CARBS! What the heck? I only do 20 carbs or less a day and don't want to spend two on supplements. I also try to avoid soy, which this one has.
Does anyone have a suggestion? Has anyone tried the Natural Vitality Calm? It is a powder and says it is sugar free... but....
Thanks
Jae

The best absorbed, easy to take and cheapest I've found so far is Magnesium Carbonate that I order on Amazon from Bulk Supplements.
It's a powder you can add it to anything. Liquids to drink or food you cook. It has no flavor. It may have a chalky feeling in your tongue if you don't mix it with enough liquid to drink.
I start my day with a 1/4 tsp in my coffee and take a fee doses for about 2000mg a day. That's my personal tolerance threshold.

I take mine through a topical oil.

You can also absorb through the skin as tcunbeliever does. Epsom Salts soak is the easiest for that and relaxing after a hard day too. You can even get the salts with lavender, or if you need a boost with eucalyptus oils.

I cut the Doctor's Best in half and take them that way.
