Carb Count Question - Carbs in Marinade?

Options
Hello All! I found a recipe for carnitas that I would like to try...the only problem is I am not sure if some of the ingredients count. The recipe calls for tossing the chunks of pork with oil, a quartered orange and lime, sliced jalapeño, onion, and garlic and baking everything together. Once the pork is cooked you discard all ingredients but the pork. So since I won't actually be eating any of the fruits or veggies, how do I count the carbs for those ingredients?

Any advice is greatly appreciated! I'm on my first week of Keto and am down 7.5 lbs! Super excited but I want to make sure I am staying within my daily allowance!

It really depends on how accurate you want to be. It is probably 4-8 grams left on the meat (less if you aren't juicing the fruit and cooking in that). Personally, I wouldn't stress about it. It shouldn't be enough to make a difference unless this is a daily meal and the only thing you eat.

I don't worry about anything my food marinades in or cooks in if I'm not spooning on to my plate when I'm eating.
