MI is so wonderful for walks at this time of year. Cool, bit not COLD, warm, but not HOT and the fall smells from the trees are better than Yankee Candles! Ifall!

Okay, now that I have been with MFP for 23 days and have gone overboard on what is realistic for me, I am ready to set my goals for October. I have been trying to walk more and faster than I should be for my health, emotional and physical. So I am only putting down approximates in my exercise log (mph etc.) because I am actually only going to really look at my steps/day. I think just looking at increasing my steps is a major improvement. And I am going to incorporate some dancing into my days. I used to ballroom dance and miss it very much. That will increase my steps.
I am so happy for those who are able to keep track of individual exercises and make more specific goals. You are doing great and I am so happy that this works for you. Encouragement, encouragement to all! Keep it up!

Please do not over-do Galaians, as we all started on MFP because we needed to improve our health and we will all tell you that this did not happen in 23 days. :noway: Everyone here started with small steps and worked up to many miles and you will too. It is very smart to work on increasing your steps each day and to limit your sitting. Leslie says "beginners burn a lot of calories because the body is getting used to all the new movement," so you will be getting fitter each day and you will be surprised how much your stamina increases day by day. Enjoy your "stepping."

I really like the cooler weather, but I did not expect to come home to snow!!! We have an early snow storm blanketing much of the province of Saskatchewan. Sooo..... we won't be walking out there for a couple days, I have to unpack my suitcase and do laundry and I have a house guest until the roads are better for travelling on.
Goal for October - get ready for curling!!!

Oct 2 - 2.2 miles - on the ferry and heading for home
Oct 3 - 1.22 miles - not enough stops and walks
Oct 4 - 3.2 miles - got in more walking today

Could you just send your storm front a little to the southeast and if you could get it to cross Lake Superior & Lake Michigan, that would be a bonus!! A little chilly on my walk yesterday and worked my but off cleaning my house. Not sure why it took me all day and so many trips up and down the stairs, but oh well - neat a tidy!!
