Did someone accidentally ban him? I'm not trying to grab a dog by the ears but just want to make sure it wasn't a mistake? He says all he did was post on the "." thread the other day - a meme of punctuation marks. I remember that. And he's banned permanently for six months? I know I don't have all the facts, but I was wondering if it was some fluke?

I don't know anything about it. I didn't see the meme either so I don't know if anyone was flagging it or anything.

Just a reminder: It's against Community Guidelines to question or criticize moderation decisions in posts in Groups or the Main Forum. That said, if you want further information PM Ken himself, or regarding the moderation decision, Nova or Alex.

    That said,
Ken is on my friends' list.
I asked the OP if she wanted the thread deleted. She said yes, and I deleted it. I saw no flags (which go directly to site mods, not group mods). I have heard nothing else but what Ken posted on his feed. Ken appealed to Nova (one of the site admins) and the ban stands. That is all I know.

We had nothing to do with reporting the thread, AFAIK. Group mods have the power to boot someone from the group and/or ban them from the group, which is only something we've done once to a guy who wouldn't stop posting ads to a personal link to his selling page for a keto product after being warned repeatedly he was violating the site-wide guidelines. The other Group mods and I discuss problems as a group and generally decide together major decisions like that. Only site mods have the power to ban from the entire site or Community as a whole. We'd have to report just like you guys do if it was something bad enough to merit a Community ban. And in the ad situation, we were told to handle it ourselves, so we warned, and then when he reposted it, banned the guy from the Group.

You guys can do the "report" feature or PM the site mods independent of us. So it could have been another member who reported. The Group mods have yet to see you guys do anything egregious enough to merit a report (beside the ad business). We prefer to handle everything in-house. Because we like this Group to be a nice place. And you all are awesome enough to be decent and oblige. :+1:

With him being banned for something so innocuous, it reinforced my resolve to STAY in THIS group, where it's safe!! And Ken's pics were always so cheerful and INNOCENT! No questionable things, IMO. Sigh! A reminder that Life isn't fair.

Well, we don't know the whole story. Based on what he said, I thought it might be an innocent error (mod hits the wrong name to ban), but as long as the admins in the know know about it, that's that. I don't have an opinion on it, other than it seems out of character with what I've seen of him. That "seen" being the operative point.

I'm not questioning their decision, just if it was really meant to be made. Seems like it was. Overall, I've found the mods here not heavy handed at all.

But I was also worried as it was stated perhaps everyone on that thread got a flag, and I had posted a question mark after the first odd (blank) post. I don't *think* I have any flags. Not 100% positive? How would I know. He said you get three then banned?

I'm also only in this group. But basically cause I think the others are a waste of time. Not that I don't waste a lot of time here! XD
