Fat fast?

Hey all. I'm new here and had a question. I've been living low carb for 2 years this past June. I keep my calories at 1,200 per day, carbs between 20-25, fat around 120 grams and protein around 100 grams. I recently started running 3 times per week and plan to strength train the other 2-3 days. I have been maintaining between 170-178 since October. Granted, when I'm in school (I teach) I cheat now and again, as well as holidays and birthdays. Not huge, just ice cream or cake. I feel like I need to live life normally at times. The rest of the time I'm faithful. I've dropped 65 lbs to date. But this stall is killing me. After so long, with only 30 lbs left, would a fat fast be effective for me??
Thanks for the help!!

Personally, I think you should be eating more than 1200 calories a day. This is most likely why you are stalling. That fat fast would be a last resort.
Are you eating back your exercise calories? If not, your deficit is WAY too severe. What is your BMR? Typically woman doing Atkins eat between 1500-1800 calories per day.0 -
Thanks for the reply! I was eating 1,580 cal/ day and still not losing. I lowered it to hopefully help. I will raise it again and see if it works. Thanks!!!
My BMR IS 1,529 and TDEE is 1,7550 -
Ok, so if your BMR is 1529, then you should still be losing if you're eating 1700-1800 calories a day and exercising. But keep in mind, if your body is used to 1200 calories and you all of a sudden start eating 1500-1800, you will gain at first. I would slowly add the calories in. Say 100 a day or so.
Also, I just found this great article about the Fat Fast by Jimmy Moore (low carb guru).

Thanks!! I've only been at 1200 a day for about 2 weeks. Hopefully I won't gain!!0

If you do gain, remember it's only temporary until your body gets used to the extra calories and nutrients0
