Yikes. Typing the dates for this thread just freaked me out! Where does the time go? Yeah, and I turned 64 since last here. Uh-huh. Thanks for the birthday wishes on FB and by email (Sarah :) ) It makes me happy knowing I have friends here. I really appreciate you ladies. . and I missed you.

SW: 156
Last time: 128
TW: 128.8

I can't believe it, but I maintained pretty well. I had a wonderful time and we were very active . . played a lot of golf, snorkeled, swimming & pool time, walking & hiking, shopping. The bad news: I got sick the last few days there. :s Unfortunately, I kept going . . playing golf etc. One day it was 91 degrees and humid on the golf course. (Lois, we had a cart, lol!) After the round, we went to a restaurant/bar, ordered drinks, pizza. BAM! I could not eat or drink. I was dizzy and nauseated and ill. I could hardly talk to my hubby or the waiter. My skin was red. My head started pounding. I felt like I was going to fall off my chair. Hubby had the pizza boxed, and helped me to the car and back to the condo and into bed. I had been sick with a cold that day, but I think I got heat exhaustion on top of it. The next day, I kept trying, but I was only getting sicker.

Long story even longer, lol, when we got home to SLC (the flight was brutal) I went straight to bed. Next morning, hubby took me to the emergency room where they gave me 3 breathing treatments, chest x-rays, and blood tests and kept me there for hours with IV. Gave me a steroid shot into IV. Sent me home with antibiotics and cough suppressant, and of course, my inhalers which I've always had. That was Monday. Today, I finally showered and unpacked my bag. :| Canceled my trainer for the week. . dang. My steps are pathetic. I was on track to get 2,016 in 2016, and now I think it's unlikely. I'm so bummed. So far, I hate being 64!

Bright side. . I maintained pretty well.

Sheesh, I am so sorry you've been ill and I'm glad to hear that you're on the mend. I thought something was wrong when I saw that your steps were low on the fitbit dashboard and kept meaning to send you a message. Things have been a bit out of the ordinary here, though, and I was hoping that you'd just decided to stop back in CA on your way home. Please take care of yourself and don't overdo.

Here's my stats for the week.
    LW: 141.4
    TW: 140.0

Sorry I didn't get them posted yesterday. I had to start work at 7:30 a.m. and I worked without a break until my mentoring session started at 6 p.m.

I don't really think this is much of a loss. Instead, I think the higher weight last week was just one of those temporary upward fluctuations probably caused by what I had for dinner the night before that weigh-in. I'll feel like progress is being made when I'm below 140 for several weeks in a row. And I'll get there. I will, I will. :)

I'll fill everyone in later, but this contract transition is difficult. Time will tell, and I'm trying to not project, but there's a knot in my tummy most of the time.

Hope everyone has a good day. Thinking about you all.

So bummed you came home ill!!! Hope you're feeling better soon!!! I loved your pics on fb! And wasn't that golf cart pretty nifty? you should try the ones in Utah..I'm sure they are just as fun!! :)

Vertigo is so much better than on Monday and over the weekend. Planning my weekend hike with my surrogate daughter (can't get her on a fitbit to join us...gggrrr). Anyhoo, we're going to hike in the am and then go to breakfast. . Not going to overplan my solo weekend. Some morning hikes is about all I've got. Praying this vertigo stays away.

Thanks for the good wishes. Feeling a little better every day. I finish up the antibiotics Saturday. Trainer on Monday. . I hope I'll be at least 90% by then.

Lois, enjoy your freedom this weekend! Sometimes it's so nice to just have the house and your time all to yourself ;) Your ears are all back to proper crystal placement, so enjoy your hiking!

Sarah, I sighed when you said you have a knot in your tummy most of the time. :s There's nothing worse. I think I'd choose my illness over that feeling. Ugh. I pray all is resolved for you very soon. In the meantime . . deep breathing and exercise. And, that's a good loss for the week! Congrats!

P.S. Giants won the wild card! Yay! Bad news is they take on the red hot Cubs next series. Lois, I'll be watching your Red Sox tonight.. I think the Nats play Sat, right Sarah? Love playoff season. :)

Just have a moment, but wanted to say that I'm glad that both of you (Lois and Sheesh) are feeling better.

The Nats play the Dodgers at 5:30 EDT today. I have on my favorite Nats shirt and I'm ready--but nervous. We lost Ramos for the rest of year about a week ago. He is our ace catcher and he hits a lot of homeruns. We are also minus our best pitcher, Strasburg, who is also still on the DL. But we still have a lot of great players, including Utah's own, Bryce Harper, who I call "Baby Boy!"

And Sheesh, it helps to know that there are people who understand when I talk about the "knot in the stomach."

Sheesh - I'm bad. I'm not that great of a fan. If i see the Sox playing, I cheer for them, but I'm not that into watching the baseball. Football I do enjoy watching...

Sarah - I know the knot in your stomach feeling as I was dealing with those emotions after coming back to work post mom's issues. Lots of tension around the office. Still is. However, I've also been working on attempting to relieve those feelings. Some days are better than others. I think I've avoided commenting on your concerns as I didn't want to face my own. My caffeine intake is ridiculous and I was pretty much caffeine free for several years...decaf coffee. Now I'm back on fully leaded and a leaded chai tea latte in the afternoon as well. Somehow I feel like it actually calms me down. It's like a comfort food.

We are anticipating rain this evening and into tomorrow morning. With my head and neck still being just a little bit wacky, I canceled my plans to meet my surrogate daughter. I'd rather sleep until I wake and if the weather is good, I'll hike near the house. The other trail is a good 30 mins away without traffic and with great weather parking is ridiculous!! There are tons of spaces - just hordes and hordes of hikers out there to compete for the spaces. I did sign up for a fun emoji virtual run. So my goal is to complete the 6.2 miles sat or sun in the neighborhood. I figure I can walk a bit, then head to Starbucks, get my coffee and then head back home. Our insurance program requires us to be active and gain a certain number of points to keep our premiums down (HA!), but a 10k is worth 350 points per - so yep gotta get 'er done. The virtuals are generally tied to a charity as well and get me to keep training for my trail races. Between the two I'd already be there, but this year has been tough in that area. I have only signed up for the 2016.

Weight. For me, it can be such a fickle thing. The past few days, I've a pretty good deficit and yet my weight spiked up and this morning it was 142.4. Can't say that I've been heavy handed with the salt, and my steps have been pretty good. So I have to just tell myself not to let one morning's weight get me down. It's a lovely fall day (except for the wind) and today's a holiday for feds, so I get it, too. And trust me I need it. Even on my third day off in a row, that knot is still there.

I had to chuckle a few minutes ago. As I said, it's chilly and windy today, although the sun is fabulous. I want to get over to the nursery to pick up a few more fall plants, so I dressed to be warm and comfortable, not fashionable. As I passed a mirror, I had a flash back to the TLC show "What Not to Wear," and I could imagine what the hosts would say if they could see me in my old gray jeans, running shoes, a red sweatshirt that has to 15 years old and that I think was guy's sweatshirt that I bought because the women's didn't have fitted cuffs.

But it's RED--and today is playoff game #3. The Dodgers won the first one 3 to 2; we won yesterday 5-2; and today, we're playing in LA, and everyone knows that the Dodgers play much better on their home field.

So I'm going out soon to enjoy the fall weather a bit, get in a few steps, and hopefully not run into anyone I know! Keep those prayers coming that this work situation will work out, and I'll send some back your way, Lois.

Sheesh, hope you're continuing to feel better. And Kelly--where are you girl?

Sarah - glad you get the day off. I don't. =(( Weekend was not eventful, nor active. Spent most of the time icing and relaxing. Neck and back were seriously out of whack and I didn't sleep well. Off to the chiropractor to get it back in place. Need to take some time to get with PT to see if they can help. The chiro is very short term success...

Lois, I hope your back and neck get better soon. It's so frustrating. Can the chiro give you some exercises to help keep it aligned after he puts it back?

Sarah, I've been watching the Nats (and the Red Sox, Lois. I'll watch for you, lol;)) and I have to say that Scherzer is a good pitcher. Good luck to the Nats today. I don't like the Dodgers. Not sure why, but I think it goes back to the old Bucky Dent days, ha ha!! (A LONG time ago)

It's lovely fall weather here too. I had a little bit of a set back over the weekend with my cold/flu, and ended up just laying low mostly. We did go out with our daughter here to celebrate her up-coming birthday, but other than that I didn't exercise. I finished up my antibiotic, and the sinusitis and bronchitis is gone, but I still have a lingering cough, occasional headache, and fatigue. Hate it. But, on the bright side, I had my trainer today and have reached my 10K. I need a heck-of-a-lot more though if I'm going to come anywhere near to 2016 this year. At this point, I think it may be a lost cause.

Go Nats! Go Giants! (who also play today :) )

Sheesh - I hate to see that you're not feeling well. I was wondering about you as your weekend steps usually blow me away! I can't keep up with you without hiking and that wasn't going to happen. Thank you for watching the Red Sox. I was happy to hear that the Pats won yesterday, making up for the Red Sox and their showing at Cleveland. They're back at Fenway so I'm hoping they do better! I say "hear" about the Pats as my cable provider doesn't think that Tom Brady's return was a very big deal and opted to not show the Patriots yesterday. harumph!!! Actually, that happens more often than not, that's why they're hard for me to follow. But I was in a funk yesterday and was hoping to watch some football. I couldn't handle the Steelers uniform....THEY ARE FUGLY!!! And I'm a little bit of a Steelers Fan. Tony the tigers were running all over. Had to change the channel...honestly never even saw a score or catch the pats update at the bottom ticker. So so fugly. Changed back to some other chick flick or something.

My chiro is on the same page as I am that we need to move into PT or possibly xrays. Something about the C5 as the right arm has twinges from the pain just below the elbow area as well. Waiting for call back to see what their last appt on Thurs or Fri would be. I have meetings all tomorrow and Wed.

Go Nats! Go Giants! (as long as neither is playing the Red Sox I will cheer for your teams. =))

Forgot to say that I did prepare a tri-tip for me for lunch for the week (still on a beef kick). I also had sweet potatoes. I even prepared my breakfasts - though I did stop at starbucks for my java fix! My workout bag is also packed and ready for me to train. Planning on TRX tonight and whatever she's calling the butt kicker class on Wed.

Sheesh, I didn't hear about the Giants game until this morning after I had started work. What a game that must have been. I'm sorry I didn't get to see it. Winning by one run in the 13th inning! Wow! Go Giants!

As you've probably heard, the Nats also won, this time 8 to 3. But all the teams playing in October are great teams, so anyone can win at this point. We have to face Clayton Kershaw again today. Our pitcher is one of our real young ones--Joe Ross. I have butterflies already. We're 15 minutes out for the game, but I still have at least one more than hour to work. Ross is good, but darn we could use Strasburg.

Lois, my damage was to C7 and C8, but the PT did seem to help, especially the neck traction. I'm sending you healing thoughts. And the fact that you're still taking a class--that's amazing. I know about that nerve pain. And as far as coffee goes, last week I read something that said that caffeine actually may have beneficial qualities as far as where fat is stored. I know, next month, they'll say the opposite. LOL

Well, ladies, my challenge today is going to be finding time to watch the game, take a long walk, and do a few other things that I need to attend to after work. Thankfully, we have leftovers for dinner.

I made it to TRX last night - late but I made it and got my rumpous kicked!! And somehow, I was even able to get in my 10k steps for the day. I followed that with some of my tri tip for dinner and some sugar snap peas. That wasn't enough so I had, not one but TWO english muffins. I apologized to hubby that because that was the SECOND time i've done that, I can't buy EM anymore. He's going to have to stick with his whole grain bread until I have my self control. That's how he can help me, by not having that in the house.

The Red Sox are out of the running and sad to say that because they lost to the Indians. Why? Because my daughters father in law works at that stadium and for some reason - they HATE the Red Sox. Anyhoo...just gives them something to gloat about when I see them over the holidays. They're older than me...maybe they'll forget...or I may have to remind them how my Patriots kicked their Browns bums. Yeah that's what I got.

Good luck to both of you ladies and may your teams end up in the World Series.

The Nationals lost so we go to game 5 in DC on Thursday. I hate to say it, but I think for the first time I'm going to miss my volunteer gig that night without being out of town or sick. The Giants game is still going on and they're ahead, so go Giants!

I logged in to put in my dinner and saw the new post. Lois, I swear that when I try to eat only lean meat and vegetables, I start craving bread or some starch. I think my best bet is to include some rice or bread and cut back elsewhere. But I know what you mean about a certain type of bread. I cannot have Panera asiago bread in the house too often.

I made it out to walk from about the second to the fifth innings and got in 9000 steps today. I should have probably gone back out afterwards to get in the additional 1000, but I didn't. No excuse other than just not wanting to head back out into the dark.

I'm feeling a little less anxious today, so if you're sending prayers or good thoughts my way, they must be working. Thanks!

Tomorrow is weigh-in day for me, so I'll check in with you all again tomorrow. Today, I was back down to 140, but who knows about tomorrow. I do hate this three pound range thing.
