Is it possible to lose 10% bodyfat quickly on Keto?

Hey guys
I don't have a ton of lbs to lose, but I am very squooshy (yes, that is the scientific term lol) and have not been able to lost fat or firm up. Enter Keto....

I have one of those bioimpedence scales that is supposed to measure weight, bodyfat, muscle mass, hydration level, bone etc. I've always read how the body comp readings are super inaccurate, and my bodyfat reading was about 36-37%. I didn't think it was accurate (now I actually DO think it's accurate but that is another story), but figured ok well if it goes down then at least I know I am losing.

Since starting keto a few weeks ago, I only lost about 4 lbs but my scale says I am down to 26% bodyfat. So a loss of 10%. Does that even sound possible or is my scale truly a big fat liar??

Your scale is a liar. I'm sorry but 4lbs is not 10% bodyfat.

LOL see?? That's exactly what I was thinking lol. I think it's just water, which don't get me wrong I am VERY happy about because the water retention made me feel AWFUL. Now I am really wondering how I can monitor my bodyfat %? Suggestions on good measurement methods?

Honestly, I'd just get a set of calipers and use it to track your BF trend. They're not much more accurate for an exact number, but skinfold measurements are a lot more consistent. Your calipers will never tell you that you're 6% bodyfat one day, and 12% the next.

Want spot on accuracy? Go for a DEXA.

Not sure if they have these in GA yet, but I suggest you check because this method is fairly accurate and not too expensive either as compared to a DEXA scan:

Until I went to the link and saw the picture of the truck, I thought the company name was "Body Fattest." Not very tactful, me thought.
