Thanks I love some nice dark beers in the winter. I wish the carbs were the issue with them, my gut can't seem to handle them though anymore :( maybe one once in a while.

And dammit, @nvmomketo, yummy ciders certainly aren't in the low carb running either :(

But from what I've read the alcohol is still a problem.
Doesn't your liver stop processing everything except the alcohol?
My body doesn't lose anything on the days when I have a couple of beers.
And yes, some hot summer days it becomes several instead of a couple.
    Usually I drink Sleemans Clear.

When I'm home I only drink Scotch or whiskey on the rocks because of carbs. The only time I have beer now is part of a tradition me and some of the guys have done for years after making it safely out of whatever Country we've been in and are headed home on R&R. We always have a few (read many, lol) pints of Guinness at the pub in Dubai to celebrate.

I'm new to LCHF and I can't imagine totally banning beer from my diet. I don't drink it regulary, but 2,3 per week, on the night when I'm going out. I mean, yes, I want to reach my weight goal, but I also want to live and enjoy :)
