Hi all,
I just thought that I would introduce myself to you all. I started my Atkins diet today and have high hopes. In the past a higher protein and low carb diet has worked for me, but always felt unstructured.
I have recently completed a 7 day high protein and low carb diet followed by a 5 day juice fast in order to kick my cravings, which has really worked!!
So... any tips or suggestions? I think it will ba able to stick to 20 grams of carbs, but I would like some advice on deducting fibre. I am logging my food diet on here, which obviously states carbs and fibre. Do I simply subtract the fibre consumed from the 20g of carbs?
Thank you!

Hi! Wow it sounds like you've already done a lot of great things. I only started induction 7 days ago so I'm by no means an expert When I started I felt so confused and overwhelmed by information; hopefully your past experiences will make this transition easier!
What I did at first was exactly what you described. I looked at the totals for the day and subtracted the total fiber from the total carb to yield my "net carb" for the day. But, then I found this: http://cavemanketo.com/configuring-mfp/
It has a tutorial for how to configure MFP to calculate net carbs for you. It's cool and easy to do! Also, it has a tutorial on how to reset your macros to reflect your low carb goals.
Good luck!!0
