bacon in the UK

making the transition to primal this weekend and wondering about bacon in the uk as it always has nitrates added - do people still eat it?

yes. you can't stop me from eating bacon.
Now, I do try to get from a butcher - and avoid it in mass produced packaging as they stick sugar and preservatives in addition. Get as close to the hog as you can - and then eat them.0 -
In the UK you can probably find good sources of bacon at your local farmer's market.
I was always able to get great quality bacon at the market in Belfast.
Also,local butcher is a great choice.As there is a good supply of pork belly you could get your butcher to slice some and cure it yourself.

I get mine from a farm at the end of my street lol, I see the pig one week and bacon the next There is lots of evidence that nitrates aren't terrible from paleo sources as well, have a little google.
I'm on the whole 30 so avoiding store bought bacon0
