I saw an ad on facebook advertising 28 day keto challenge by ketogenic girl. It costs $159...she says its for those who have not found the results they were looking for doing it on their own She takes all the guesswork out of it and gives meal plans for the 28 days. Any thoughts on if this is worth it? Has anyone else joined? Any thoughts would be appreciated

I googled it, but it just looks like a preplanned diet. To me, that's a lot of money just to have someone else tell me what to eat. Are you having difficulty following your meal plan? Or are you perhaps not preplanning your day's meals? I do this the night before so I know I have the foods I need in the house. If you are following your macro's, your results wouldn't be much different from the results using her meal plan. Just MHO. I've spent so much on diets, weight loss clubs, etc., that having found keto, it seems a relief to let go of all of that.

I follow her on instagram...it seems like a lot of people but into it.

But if you are interested in not meal planning, eat simple foods without recipes.

I kind of knew it was not worth it but thought maybe i was missing out on something. I am so use to paying for other diet plans that never worked so why i thought this one was different, I don't know. But thank you all for your i put and FIT_Goat you said it best. This is the best place for support and thank you

If meal plans are something you feel better having, google for some keto meals and make your own plans based on what fits your macros and tastes. It takes a little bit of work, but you should be able to throw a basic plan together in 20-30 minutes (maybe as much as 60, the first time while you start finding resources) for a week's worth. Unless you have another way you could be spending that time which brings in $75+ an hour, it's going to be cheaper.

Still too much work? https://www.eatthismuch.com/ might help you out. You tell it your calories and macro goals, what foods you want or do not want, and it will give you a menu for a day. It's free, in limited form, and $7-$9 a month in premium form (although I have never paid for it and don't use it much because my diet is so easy).

    Interesting site, thx.

A few simple substitutions might be necessary (full-fat mayo for light, etc.), but it's pretty flexible yet simple to use.

They let you say which food you want or don't want. But, I stopped using it when I went carnivore. There's just no real menu options when you exclude all dairy, plants, etc.

Yeah, if they say low-fat mayo then I would switch it out. I never let it include mayo, because I avoid vegetable oils.

We also find the dietdoctor site had a free week's plan which got us started. It was alot of cooking though it did work. We are now free wheeling it.

I think there's a free week plan on www.ruled.me when you sign up for his newsletter. Seems like remember getting that and a few extra recipes too. It was a year and a half ago that I started this journey though, so I don't know if it's still free.
I didn't use any of it as it turned out because I am not a planner and don't like cooking from recipes. I just cook meat in whatever basic way, sautée some veg for the family and maybe make a cheese or cream sauce to pour over everything for whoever wants it.

I had a look at this just out of interest. I set my targets at 20 - 25g carbs 120 - 130g fat and 95 - 100g protein and it generated me a plan with 91.2g Carbs(73.9g net carbs), 82.1g Fat and 118.8g Protein. An interesting idea but not even close to useful.

I hate cooking but I love finding recipes and planning my meals (I prelog everything). It's fun because it's like a puzzle to me. I tried a program called FreshToFit or something like that before and I loved that it was simple, I could just microwave the food. But I hated that I couldn't change what I was eating. Whatever was packaged was what I had to eat. Also, I had no control over the serving sizes. I also considered something like Blue Apron where you get a box of fresh ingredients for the week along with recipes and cooking demonstrations but I ultimately decided NOT to sign up for that because I knew after a week I would be tired of someone else telling me what to eat. I have seen plenty of free weekly and even month low carb meal plans online but when I look at them I often think, "Well I don't like this food/ingredient" and "This food/ingredient is too hard to find I don't want to go to a specialty grocery store to get it or wonder around for hours trying to find it and it will probably be expensive". So with that, I've always decided to just suck it up and cook for myself. I can change the menu when I want and control how it is prepared, what the portion sizes are, etc.

That extremely odd. While it might stray outside my macros, it is never by that much. And, I have used it while eating keto. I will play around with it tonight and see if the same thing happens to me.
