I was just told I am diabetic and started this low carb way of life , this is not just a diet for me. This is a change in my life forever now! I started this journey at 429 pounds , and I am now 358. I still have a long way to go but I work at it daily.

WTG celewis2011! Are you doing Intermittent fasting for your diabetes (T2D?) as well as low carbing? I don't have diabetes but you are welcome to friend. I know there are a few on this forum who have experience with diabetes, I'm sure they'll help you out too.

Welcome!
Don't forget to check out the stickies on the main page of the board! The launch pad had some great starting points to go over and read. After that don't hesitate to ask questions you've got a bunch of long time LC members who are quick to lend a hand!0 -

Welcome! I also just joined and this group has really helped me get motivated. I was diagnosed with prediabetes and my endocrinologist also recommended low carb. I read lots of benefits for the metabolism from eating low carb and also a ketogenic diet. She also put me on metformin (this was prescribed many years ago but I didn't take it as it hurt my tummy, now I'm taking another form which isn't that bad. I don't know if it helps, but my sister thinks it helped her a lot. And after reading how safe it is I wish I started taking it earlier not after my sugar levels went so high. I'll send you a request. I'm new too and would be great to have more friends whose success I get notices of.0
