I was wondering if anyone has had a goiter and how was it treated?

Did it go away with medication or did you need surgery?

I have had several in the past 10 yrs, Hypothyroid. Fortunately I was able to have my meds increased and it shrunk and went away by itself. If you can feel it 'growing' you should see your doctor as soon as possible, the longer you wait I hear the chances of surgery increase. Best wishes to you

I had a goitre - it's how I first found out I was hypothyroid. Mine went away within around six months of starting treatment and despite some troubles with medication changes along the way, hasn't returned (almost six years later).

Mine was a multinodular goitre. I eventually had surgery.

I have a goiter, that is how I found out I have hypothyroidism. Mine has gotten a lot smaller with my meds but it isn't completely gone, Probably because I have nodules on my thyroid.

This is what I have :-(

Did they just remove the goiter or the whole thyroid?
