In the spirit of new topics, here's one.

My wife and I have been going to the same location for four years, Negril Jamaica. We've stayed at one or the other of side by each resorts on Bloody Bay. Nice, relaxed pace of life, two mile run in the morning on a crescent beach while herself sleeps in. Then we have breakfast together, I go diving and we relax the afternoon away on the beach.

Kauai for both relaxing and for activities in nature. Lots of kayaking, hiking, sailing, swimming and taking in the beauty that surrounds the islands.

Negril is lovely as well. I lived on the island for a while and it is my favorite spot. :)

Living in the U.K. I spend a lot of my vacations in Northumberland. The beaches are as white as snow & deserted. Perfect for nice quiet walks

For the last 7 years most vacation time we actually take are spent in Colorado with our kids who have moved there. It's not that I don't want to go to Hawaii or Negril, it's just that when a long weekend or week presents itself I'm on the plane to CO. Maybe when we actually retire and have some "real" vacation time I'll be willing to give that CO time up occasionally. We own our own business, just the two of us working, so it's rather difficult to get very much more than longish weekends! Someday!!!

This is going to sound awful but I'm really bad at vacation. It bodes not well for when I retire....

I'm retiring for the second time in June. I'll still do something part time, but 5 days a week keeping the rehab running is all over. My plan is to load up camping gear on the motorcycle and spend a couple weeks circumnavigating Newfoundland.

What a great adventure! I've got a few friends on the rock who say the ride is spectacular but pick your season carefully...

I am in Ottawa, Canada's national capital. It is in eastern Ontario, directly north of New York state. At couple of years ago, I joined a few friends from Pennsylvania. We met up in Bangor, Maine, then rode to Cape Breton Island where we rode our motorcycles around the Cabot Trail.

    For those unfamiliar...

Total ride... back, forth and around... was close to 3000 miles done over 8 days.

Why the Cabot Trail? Well... a picture is worth 1000 words...

I rode the Cabot Trail last summer, camping in Ingonish for two nights and doing the loop in a day. Fantastic ride.

I'm pretty jealous of your rides.......both of you, but here I am with my grandkids at Lily Lake in the Rocky Mountains two months ago. We always hike, fish, play in the snow or something while I'm there!

BTW, it was about 38 degrees that morning and I was freezing and had 3 tops on to keep warm....LOL, not used to that kind of cold being from CA and all!
