"The funny thing about Thanksgiving, or any huge meal, is that you spend 12 hours shopping for it and then chopping and cooking and braising and blanching. Then it takes 20 minutes to eat it and everybody sort of sits around in a food coma, and then it takes four hours to clean it up." -- Ted Allen

I'm trying to avoid the food coma, but the rest is inevitable.

Been invited out for the last 4 years. Ate like a pig, no clean up super comatose most of the afternoon. Thanks! Chris

"20 minutes to eat it"? Never in my life has a Thanksgiving meal gone that fast. More like an hour and a half. There's a tip: slow down and enjoy the company.

That is what I am trying to do. It is so easy for me to take for granted the family and friends that I have. It's nice to have a day that celebrates thankfulness.
