Why hello there

I don't know if many of you will remember me but I was quite active in this group over a year or so ago.
Since then things have not changed much, and I was discouraged by my medical team saying that it is not likely I will lose much weight because of the medications I am on. However, I have still been exercising as much as I can because it is good for my health overall.
I am around 400lbs (five foot six inches tall), and am a Type One diabetic (29 years).....and I have since been diagnosed with degenerative disk disease in my back and arthritis in my hips and knees. As well as a variety of other medical problems.
I am hoping to become active in this group again, esp as the holidays are over (I hate this time of year). In another group I am part of, we do a monthly challenge where we post daily goals (some people use the same ten goals every day, others, like myself, will have 6-7 of the same goals and change the last 3-4 depending on the day). And try and reach a certain amount of points in a month. Most people reach for 200 points, and reward themselves with something if they make points. I got better at it the last couple months, but it took me MONTHS to earn an expensive travel mug and a whirlypop!
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing that type of challenge here next month? I could start the post a few days before Jan 1st so it would give people a chance to join and decide what goals they want for themselves. Not all goals are weight loss related....a lot of people include going to bed by a certain time, reading, Bible study, communicating with someone that does not live in your house daily, work related goals, pet and children related goals, and the list goes on.
Anyway, glad to be back, hopefully this group is still active. Let me know if you are interested in a challenge of that type, it would not take much effort for me to post it in two groups and I find it very beneficial and hoping some of you might too.

Hey HL, nice to see you again!!
Ok, well at least with three of us we can do this, maybe more will join in when they see.
So, I am going to make the post on Dec 27th, with a start date of Jan 2nd, that way it is up for a few days to be able to pick up newcomers and once people see the layout it will give them a couple of days to come up with goals etc.
I might not be around a ton between now and Christmas, however I will check in from time to time, but by December 26th I will be back in full swing.....
I hope everyone has a great holiday!0 -
Hi I would be interested also! I am also a type one diabetic, since the age of 16. I am fortunate to not have many complications, just some mild ROP in one eye. I use a pump. I am all about challenges!0

Oh this is great! If it goes well and ya'll are enjoying it I will start one monthly...they usually go right from the 1st of every month to the last day without breaks, but because a lot of people (including myself) celebrate New Years Day, I figured the 2nd would be better for just this month. I did not participate in Decembers challenge because I just get way too busy but am so looking forward to it for next month.
New Year's Day my kids and I go to the Mandarin for dinner and generally watch movies for the evening.....1 -
Sounds good to me...my anniversary is New Years Eve and we always go out and indulge!0
