The title says it all. This is what is working for me. In the past, when trying to lose weight I have always gained it back. Why? Be because whatever I was doing to lose weight was not a sustainable way of living. Besides that, if I gave in one day and ate way more than I had planned, I would get mad and sometimes give up. Well if it is a lifestyle change, it doesn't matter if you mess up because it is a way of living and not a diet. Follow portion sizes, only eat one serving of the foods you want. If you want Ben and Jerry's ice cream, then eat it! One serving is 1/2 cup and about 250 calories. That's really not that bad! For snacks between meals, eat fruits and veggies instead of fattening treats. This saves up more fat and calories to fill you up at meal time! Just thought I would share what has been working for me. I have been doing this for 5 months now and haven't had any weight gain only loss!
