@FIT_Goat do you have a list of go-to recipes for the 30 days of ground beef? The concept intrigues me, but I need some variety in my culinary life. Thirty days of hamburger patties just won't cut it for me. :D

When I had my consultation with Amy Berger, she recommended upping my protein intake. It's been a challenge for me for a variety of reasons. Ground beef is relatively cheap and easy to prepare, so that may be a good focal point.

Here's my daily log from when I did it: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/FIT_Goat

As for recipes? Well, I don't really have much. I ate more of those as patties, or just loose ground beef with a little seasoning. I don't know if I had any real variation in the whole month. I did have a tartare at least once (raw prepared and ground at home) but even that was plainly seasoned with salt and pepper.

It might be best to find 1-2 ways that you really like ground beef and stick to those, instead of recipes. And expect to have the appetite fall of right at the start. I only eat meat, and I still saw my appetite lag near the start.

I'm curious, for those who've tried the 'meat-only' WoE for a few weeks ... did anyone do before-and-after labs for comparison? I'd be curious as to the results of lipid profiles, etc., people experience doing this.

I'm getting my next labs in about two weeks and may make some dietary changes after that depending on where certain levels are. Right now I consume a fair amount of dairy ... often over 1 full cup of heavy cream per day (yum ) so it's going to be interesting seeing how that's affected my labs.

Unfortunately, the only labs I have are PCOS-related. However, it does include fasting insulin and glucose, which, for me, is tied almost directly to lipids (I have hyperinsulinemia, so my insulin is sky high under the vast majority of circumstances, and when it's high, most of my other serum numbers are out of whack, too, but when I can get it down, everything falls into place).

The last insulin test I had before I gave up on Metformin (for a variety of reasons), my insulin was 18 uIU/mL (that was on 2000mg of Metformin and a low carb diet). My fasting glucose hung around 110 mg/dL. I was down to 13 uIU/mL insulin and 85 mg/dL glucose.

Heh, when I can get my bison, I eat it straight out the pan as it's cooking. :)

Sorry. Send me a friend request. I got a LOT of flack from people on MFP over what I was doing. Some of the messages and comments were horrible. I eventually made it private to cut down on the haters.

Edit: you already did and I accepted it. You should be able to see it now.

I loved it when I did meat only and my aim is to get back there this year, not only did my body feel better for it, I lost all depression symptoms, my ultimate goal is to get back to ZC and stay there
