Plateau? Close to goal weight.

Hi,
I'm new! Have been doing the keto WOE for 4 weeks now and lost 15lbs.
I'm strict low carb - under 20g carbs (often under 10, which I don't 'force' if that makes sense) and my 'typical' intake is 10g carbs, 110-120g fat and 50g protein. Definitely in keto - lots of energy, feel great, clarity of mind etc (I don't use strips or anything). My one vice is that I do socialise and will have a fewvodka/soda water/fresh lime one p/week. I have offset that with a ton of water and the gym the next day - oddly haven't had hangovers! I also factor them into daily calorie goals.
But... I haven't lost a pound since Friday! Which is unusual. I am 7 lbs from goal and BMI is 21.8 so I know part of it is that. I am 5'10" female which is why my BMI goal may seem low - I carry weight in legs so need to go slightly lower to get lean there. I know the drinking doesn't help so will cut that out - family aren't big drinkers so Christmas will help.
Any tips?? I am looking to do this safely, but wondered if there is anything I could improve? I don't have a timeline, there's no particular urgency. My plan is to stay keto but adjust macros to maintenance levels, one I hit goal.
FyI I measure everything on scales. Don't eat nuts. DO eat cheese - high fat like cream cheese, cambazola, all strictly measured. Gym twice a week and as much walking as I can fit into a day. I do eat the Eat Water slim noodles/pasta - I actually love the stuff so it's not a chore!
I do wonder if I just need to keep calm and keto on... I am certainly not gaining, just a plateau... thanks for any advice!

15 pounds is a huge amount in a month for someone who is so close to goal. Haven't lost a pound since Friday? 4 days ago? I wouldn't worry. It's early in my morning so maybe I read your post wrong. Keep calm. Seems to me you're doing greater than great regarding weight loss.2

Sounds like you need a reason to keep calm and keto on.
I'm about 10 pounds from my goal weight. Well within a normal bmi and I haven't lost a single 'new' pound IN OVER A YEAR. Yet I'm perfectly ok with it. You know why?
Because even though I actually weigh more now than I did then, I am physically smaller.
I never cheat. Not even once. I eat less than 10g total carbs, and I only started lifting in October this year. These physical changes didn't happen since lifting. More weight gain did though. Only like 2-3 pounds.
Keto is unlike anything we've ever known about how weight loss works. We are used to seeing the scale go down consistently as long as a calorie deficit exists. On keto our body is safeguarding muscle. I have yet to come across anyone that doesn't hit a plateau after decent losses. A plateau that usually sticks around, so get comfortable. You have to learn to trust that you're body is smarter than you. If you're being active and not providing more calories than needed, your body doesn't have much choice than to be using bodyfat. If you stress it too much, you can interfere with that a bit so I wouldn't do anything real extreme.
Hang in there. I have no doubts that if you're staying on plan, not eating too often and feeling good and staying active, that you'll continue to slim down. Even if the scale never sheds another pound.
We can pick a goal weight, but we aren't ultimately the ones with the right to decide what that number is and honestly, it's better to be slimmer while weighing more than be lighter with less muscle.4 -
Great responses. I won't add more since they said it all.
Congrats on your success so far. Keep calm and keto on.1 -
Thank you guys! I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to what is essentially my angst...
I think you're right - I've lost a lot, keto works for me, and I need to calm down a bit.
Sunny_Bunny_ your post in particular struck me - thank you so much. And your picture is just wow! Obviously amazing job and results, I would never have believed you were a higher weight in the second picture, and reminds me that weight was not my only goal when I began this so shouldn't be my sole focus now. Genuinely inspiring1
