Worried about skipping leg day

I am doing physical therapy on my knees to slowly get rid of quadricep tendonitis but going hard on my arms. It feels so good to be lifting something heavy but I'm concerned that things will start to look weird if I'm basically skipping leg day, or doing a fraction of the work.
In the summers I hike uphill a lot (Duluth, MN) so I'm hoping that will balance it out, but right now going hard on my legs will only hurt my knees more.
Does anyone have insight into the imbalance of strength training?

Ask your physical therapist for moves that will be safe for your legs until your tendonitis is healed.0

Definitely ask PT what is safe and will help. Right now I'm nursing a MCL knee sprain and my right side is 15-20% weaker than my left. Ugh. So PT has given me exercises based upon what hurts and doesn't etc.0
