I hope it's not inappropriate to post, but I'm very happy and wanted to get it out there!
I've had a hard time losing weight the last several months, I also haven't stuck to the lowest carb diet. I've jumped back on (not because of the new year, just frustration with myself) and I've been flawless!
I've been around a new store and there were sweets everywhere. My boyfriend was ecstatic over all of it but I resisted getting huge amounts of sweets. (I treated myself to something small he split with me, but I accounted for it with everything else I ate).
I'm proud the choices are easy again. I haven't checked to see if my newfound motivation has had an effect on the scale, but I don't really need it either. The cherry on top is that I'm really sick (stopped taking vitamin c tablets for a while, darn) but I've still remained diligent.
What good things are you proud of? Even small! I think it's super important to bask in the happiness of doing something right especially since we are all prone to mistakes. ^^

I gained 0 over the holidays, which marked the end of keto year 1 for me, and I can still fit into my wife's old pants (which she now has to pry herself into..... shhh!!).13

I'm happy too! I've been able to balance eating what I like with calorie maintenance. It' a matter of keeping carbs below a certain amount and fortunately its not trribly low and I can still afford to eat the yogurt, veg and nuts I like. Maintenance has been much less difficult than I feared. So thats another cause for my lightened moods I believe. Maybe too its just happy being more conscious that I have a choice now and its not really restricitive or rigid eating after all.5

I perfected my yogurt making technique, I've started making heavy cream yogurt in my sous vide it's very low in carbs 7g per cup but high in calories and fat. I can fit a 1/4 cup a day into my diet and not taking a very big it to any of my macros. It's the little things that make me happy.6

Good things for me are that I'm so far maintaining my weight pretty well. I am finally getting back to some workouts after a foot injury.

My wife and I used to get our t-shirts mixed up. Now hers are larger than mine - mostly because, as those from a couple generations ago would say, she has been blessed.
Along those lines, I got some new shirts for Christmas that had to be returned because they looked more like tents on me than shirts. I could say I am happy about this, but in some ways it is more sad that clothing manufacturers assume a large (meaning 42-44 inch chest) means the man needs it to fit a 55-60 inch waist. Even the "slim" fit shirts seem to assume the waist is as big as the chest now.2 -

That sounds so tasty, I've wanted to make my own yogurt but I have yet to try.I gained 0 over the holidays, which marked the end of keto year 1 for me, and I can still fit into my wife's old pants (which she now has to pry herself into..... shhh!!).
Ohhhh, don't tell her that! Has she seen you sporting her clothes? Haha1 -

I'm happy that I started LCHF mid-November and managed to get through Thanksgiving, my birthday celebration, my sister's birthday celebration, my mom's birthday celebration, my office Christmas party, my family Christmas party, my husband's birthday party, AND New Year's Ever with a 17 pound loss!!! If I could run that gauntlet of temptation, the next few months of losing are going to be a cake walk (pun intended!).12

I don't think I've ever posted an NSV (non scale victory), so I'll play!
Yesterday, I was at the hospital waiting while my husband had minor out patient surgery. Yesterday, I drove him home after the surgery.
The NSV is the recollection of when I was there about 2 years ago doing the same waiting then driving. When I stepped into the waiting room this time, I recalled what the previous visit was like. There are many standard comfortable chairs and a couple of recliners and pillows in the waiting room. This visit, I simply plopped in a standard chair. A couple of years ago I was praying that someone would vacate a recliner and pillow because I was so freaking miserable with my spasmodic torticollis/cervical dystonia. I was actually "tearing up" this year realizing how much "better" I am today. AND I drove home yesterday sitting like a "normal" body sits to drive a car. Last time I was twisted up, turned to the left in my seat so my face would be forward, with my arm rigged around my neck so I could hold my head and keep it pushed straight to see the roads. And Lord knows, it was easier and much less frightening to merge onto the freeway yesterday because I could see the cars coming up on the left.
Yep. My brain functions better on ketones. Who knew?12 -

Good things are happening...starting a new WOE (Keto)...I started small around Christmas -- hubby said WAIT! I've been waiting, now we're doing it together.
I guess my NSV is staying away from all the holiday leftovers that have trickled into the office...and bringing in the BIG box of my favorite nummies as an unopened holiday leftover!5 -
Last two weeks I ate about zero refined sugar (didn't touch any Christmas sweets with exception of a piece of pie). I do still eat other carbs (fruit, grains, etc) and I lost 5-lbs! That is amazing to me especially over the holidays. I quit the sugar to help with gout issues (wasn't tempted much at all since I associated the sweets with gout). I do a 20:4 IF diet and eat ad libitum during my eating window.4

This thread is hilarious! I'm super happy, too. I've been LCHF for a month now, have lost 18 lbs (over the holidays!) and finally got my keto test strips and discovered that I'm definitely well into ketosis and have become a fat-burning machine! Such a great feeling! For the first time in forever I didn't find myself making a New Year's resolution out of the shame and guilt of another year wasted and another holiday season of over indulgence. That's a major victory for me!
