Good Morning,

Today is my drive home from work day for 8 hours. I managed to wake up at 4:30 and get some treadmill time in. My plan is to get home and go on the treadmill again.. so watch out those of you in the challenge :)

Just a quick post this morning. I think I'll weigh in on Wednesdays. Gotta figure that out yet as I use 2 different scales (1 at work and 1 at home) and they report different.

I'll be home from tonight until Feb 13 so that'll be nice.

Post more later.

WOW! I know it's an incredible amount, but I also realize it's because I've got a whole new game plan going on. And it's water and I'M HUNGRY!!! I met with the nutritionist yesterday and we are progressing well. My pro-active meal prep has really paid off (for my co-worker and hubby as well). I'm down a few inches from when I first met the nutritionist in October and her weigh in there was 227 (clothed and fed) and yesterday was 220 (clothed and fed). It's the inches I'm really watching. I'm waiting for her to forward the spreadsheet so I can see and share more exact.

Waaaaaay back in October I registered for a trail run that was SUNDAY. 4.6+ measley miles. Well I was so nervous as I hadn't been on the trail, sidewalk OR the treadmill since I'd registered. I asked a friend to register with me to walk and keep me company and safe (she had done the whole series with us last year) and she did! Well, we completed the trail run - even trotting in some sections to finish with a time of 1:12:54. That's 4 min and 58 sec FASTER than last year for me!!! Longer for her, but she stayed by my side the entire run. We walked and trotted and had a great time. Beautiful sunrise and gorgeous temps as well. So, yep, I've signed up for the February run as well. Oh Lord please watch over me.

I'm also back with my trainer consistently last week and I was in TRX last night and my bag is packed for class tomorrow. BTW I don't think I shared that as I dressed for class last Wednesday I discovered that I had no socks!!! Extra bra, extra panties but NO SOCKS to be found in my bag! Traffic was a challenge getting there and if I'd detoured for socks, I would have missed class. So sockless I trained. IT WAS DISGUSTING. I don't know that I will ever ever do that again, but I got my training completed and my butt kicked for the 2nd time in the week. My bag now has extra socks in the side pockets.

Kelly - you truly do amaze me with all that you overcome weather and travel! Keep it going.

Sheesh - I really miss you on FB...can't you restrict the peeps that irritate you and come back?!?!? Just block 'em. that's what I do... tee hee

Sarah - impressive with your steps. Stay focused and keep going girl. You've got this!

The New Year is off to a great start - and Kelly is kicking my bum in all challenges and we are all going to see our successes!!

It's great to see a little progress, even though it's far from where I was last year in March when I got to 125 before we went to New York. But, the plan is to get back to at least 125 by our anniversary in March.

Kelly, your steps are awesome this week. I also weigh in on Wednesdays, so I'll check back later to see how you're doing. What's your plan for your time off at home? Nice, long time off for you :)

Lois, I really admire how you've hit the ground running (literally) for the New Year! Congratulations on your loss! You're doing great, and I get a lot of motivation reading your posts. I'm glad you're working with a nutritionist. As I've said before, that's the most important part of weight loss, as I can testify to. . walking/jogging 8 miles a day took no weight off me by itself. The only way I lose is to eat right and be in calorie deficit.

Sarah, Lois is right . . I looked at your steps and they're looking good. I really wish you would join a challenge. They're really fun! Which reminds me, I see Cheryl on the challenges again. She's so fun! I love her comments.

I really miss Facebook. :/ Over the holiday with all my kids/grandkids here it was wonderful and I miss them. I was thinking about how great they are. We had zero conflict or even any negativity together. Even the granddaughters shared nicely, lol. It occurred to me how utterly immature the "grown-ups" in my nuclear family are. They are the problem. It has a long and twisting history behind it, and the election reopened old wounds in a really ugly way. I didn't participate, but I have brothers who will not let anything go, and who try to put me in the middle. I've learned to flat out say "I won't be in the middle . . work your issues out by talking to each other." But, Facebook. . they can leave comments and not be shut down. One of them leaves comments on comments by friends . . people they don't even know . . picking fights. They are so small and petty, it's embarrassing. I know I could block them, but they'd know I did and then it might start up on my phone, which it already has. They're so weird that a text message thread sent to all of us, one will actually remove the other from the thread just for spite. One wouldn't attend the funeral of the mother of their spouse right before Christmas. I'm embarrassed to admit this to you ladies. It really makes me sad. But, maybe I'll reactivate after the inauguration, and block them then. I miss Facebook.

Sheesh - WAY TO GO!!!! Take any reduction and be proud...as we've earned it!! And I understand on the FB...I told hubby and a cousin that until their political bs stops, I am unfollowing them and they are not permitted to post on my feed (even tho it has hubby's name - maybe I should change that...haha). You're right - this election was RIDICULOUS with the negativity and fighting throughout the social media (it was no win all the way around). So we will keep it happy here. :) Positive and motivating is what I'm look forward to from you ladies.

I remembered this morning that Wednesday is weigh-in day, but I when I looked back to last Wednesday to see what I reported, I found this:

"142 something--can't remember the something. I do remember feeling a bit frustrated because I was down in the 141's yesterday and yesterday was a good day for me with intake and activity, so I didn't expect to edge up."

So I decided to settle on the half way point, since I know I bounced last week from 141 to 143. My prediction that I might find myself wishing to weigh the cursed 140.8 seems to be coming true, so my goal for next week is to anywhere below 140.8. That's more than a pound and will take some doing, especially in this cold, wet weather which just makes me want to curl up on the sofa with an afghan after a stressful day at work.

I'm happy to report that I walked with my buddy the past two nights, even though both of us were feeling a little under the weather last night. I had an uneasy tummy late Monday night and early yesterday morning, and I just did not have my normal energy level all day. I passed on going to a coalition meeting last night and let hubby go alone. But after he left, I decided to meet my walking buddy and see what I could do. When you work at home, staying home all day and all evening is an invitation for feeling "down," especially when you're not feeling that good physically.

Lois, if I can join the challenge without being on FB yet, send me the link. I know I won't do 2017 miles, but I'll contribute what I can. I'm embarrassed to say that I still have only my business FB page. For some reason, I never make time to create a personal page. It started with fears of privacy in my job setting, but now some of it is fear of things similar to the things you shared, Sheesh. Hubby finally had to block some people we had considered friends, and one texted him around Christmas time and said, "let's just move on." Hubby needed some time to reflect because he has strong feelings and fears about certain issues and he can't pretend that those things don't matter. So he replied and said that he needed a little time to think before responding further. Instead of allowing him that time, the person immediately replied and just more or less said, "well F you." I wonder if I want to open myself up to such.

Oh, well. It's time for me to get back at it. The past two days, I've worked through lunch, but today, I stopped to eat a kale salad and check in here. Nice break, but miles to go . . . :)

Had my trainer today, and am adding some cardio via the iFit Google maps app. It's snowy and even a bit foggy here today, and cold (of course), so it's indoors for me too. I signed up for a weight loss challenge with my trainer and some of her clients. We each put in $20 to see who can take the pot with the highest percentage of weight loss. :) I think it's going to be over the next 8 weeks, so it works perfectly for me for my March goal.

Wouldn't you know it . . as soon as I start using My Fitness Pal to log food religiously again, the app has frozen on some blank page that I can't exit, even when I click "done" at the bottom of page. I restarted my iPhone, I tried to uninstall and reinstall app, but when I press the app down, it just takes me to that page again! Argh!! I emailed MFP and sent a screen shot of the page. It appears to be some ad posting website that's screwy. I'm downloading "Lose It" to log there. (That's the one my daughter uses.) Anybody else having issues with MFP?

Yeah, I agree we keep politics out of our discussions here, and keep focused on health and fitness and getting our weight where we want it to be!!

Congratulations everyone on the losses, and on getting off to great starts for 2017!! Let's keep it going. Lois, I'd like to hear more about your eating plan with your nutritionist and updates on how it's going. Sarah, I'm happy you're getting your walking with your buddy done. Is this the year you add some weight training? I'm your weight training nag, lol!

Yes, I'm having some issues with slowness on MFP, too. It's like it take ages for all the ads to load. I wasn't sure if it was MFP, or me. I'm also having some trouble getting IE up for the first time each day. :/

Sheesh, I have to laugh. I changed my password recently to something that reminds me to make a short checklist every day and try to do at least two of them. Seems I can check off everything but "weights." I asked hubby to monitor me at first since my grip has been affected by the fall, and he said "okay," but . . .

Last night I did my mentoring thing from 6 to 7 and then hubby and I dashed out in the cold rain to run and buy a lamp and grab some dinner. Even though we don't like the restaurants there very much, we went to the mall with the intent to eat and then walk. But service was SLOW and we finished at 8:50. So we did a really fast lap of the top floor in that 10 minutes. I have to get more steps today! :(

Well, super crazy and stressful day yesterday. Really Really needed a workout. Alarm went off and to the restroom I went to change. Disrobed and started to pull clothes out of my bag....THREE work out tops, two pants, three pairs of socks...shoes....pretty much everything I needed...except my sports bra. And for Wednesday class, my daily bra is not supportive enough and I certainly cannot go without. GRRRRRRRR. Then I redressed, packed up my stuff and drove like a maniac home...got home at 620 :( Big time sadness. Then I realized my MIL car was parked weird in driveway and hubby's van was gone (van was supposed to be at the shop and hubby was supposed to drive MIL car). Raced inside thinking he was home sick, then raced to the TKD school to find out what was going on with the van (that's leaking fluid...why would he drive it?!?!?!?!? really???). so 640 and class is over and frustration has set in. I went home, had my dinner. Then paced the house to hit my 10k for the day. So, while I hit my step goal, I missed my training. I WILL DO a much better job at packing my gear for next week. Missing socks, missing bra. Where is my brain?!?! Do I have one lately? I dunno.

So on to a highlight story for you. Jan 8, 2010 memory popped up on facebook....it was the first day I received my BodyBugg!! can you believe it? SEVEN years I've been addicted to some form of tracking device. WOW! It made me smile.

Xray results came back negative...all is where it should be. Still have the neck pain and nerve tingling down the arm and challenges picking up a cup as driving to give an idea. Next step is an MRI CRAP I don't like those things. I have done chiro, therapy, general massage and now muscle relaxers and still the conditions exist. So, I am waiting.

Sarah - sadly the 2017 team is full, and unlike last year when we had extra participants, I am unable to toggle between teammates to keep the tally updated. And it does limit us to one team per person. However, on this board we are able to help promote one another in keeping the steps going. You can also participate in the workweek hustle and weekend warrior challenges on a cell phone or mobile using the fitbit app. Ya gotta download and sign into the app. It is not via FB....so please start to join us. It is quite fun and very motivating.

    OK gotta run again.

Lois, I had a nice chuckle at your forgotten items for the gym story. When I was working I used to pack my gym bag early in the morning and after work meet my daughter at the 24 hour fitness we belonged to at the time. I forgot items quite a few times. One time I forgot my gym shoes, lol. I had a pair of slip on shower sandals, and my daughter said "just wear those . . nobody will even notice". I really thought I should just go home, but my daughter wanted a workout. So, I put on my socks and slipped into my Adidas shower sandals, went upstairs with her to the treadmill to warm up, walked past a couple of guys on treadmills (whom I happened to know were gay), and overheard one say to the other "Oh my God . . . LOOK AT HER SHOES!!" It only took about 2 minutes for somebody to notice, LOL! I worked out anyway, and my daughter and I laugh about that all the time!
