When you log chicken wings, what do you consider "1 wing"? Is it the whole wing? Or just the separated parts of the wing, like the drumette?

I was just looking at the wing entries last night! I ordered "1 lb" of wings at the pub. They are deep fried without any coating, plus I asked for salt & pepper (aka no sauce). Scrawniest wings I ever saw and we actually discussed whether that barely level basket could be a pound. Never thought to actually count them at the time. It is also mostly bone.... 1000+ calories seemed excessive...

I usually count about 80-100 calories per wing with buffalo sauce. They are all gonna vary because of size. Where I live they never coat the wings so when I'm low carb I don' worry too much about the calories anyway because they are basically no carbs.

I don't tend to eat anything with bones, as it's hard to determine the weight/macro content based on what it weighed before you cooked it and how much you actually ate judging by what's left on your plate. You could weigh and record your chicken wings before you cooked them, but then are the values in the database for the whole wing, bones and all, or just the edible portion. And how accurate could it be at guessing how much you're actually going to eat? So not worth the hassle IMO and would only be a rare occurrence that I would eat something like this and enter it in as "close enough" in my diary.

Thanks for the input guys! I eat wings a lot and every time I log them, I wonder about this question. I've gone with each segment, but then if I eat 8 wings it is like 800 calories and that seems like an awful lot for those lil deliciousnesses
