I am having trouble finding appealing sources of fat to eat and tend to go over protein because of this. Does anyone have any tasty foods they eat to satisfy their fat needs for the day? I just don't like the idea of going for oil or butter but something a bit more exciting.

Bacon, avocado (i love guacamole or avocado cups filled with tuna ceviche), steak (rib eye yummm), i like BPC so i add heavy cream to my coffee and butter, yes if you blend it its delicious or coconut oil. Some people do fat bombs which are like candy but Im too lazy to make them3

I just cook in butter and bacon fat. I eat cheese and make cheese sauces. Other than I don't eat extra fat just for that purpose.

I eat extra fat for the purpose of maintaining a specific ratios. I tend to eat a good bit of cream cheese and mascarpone cheese because they have less protein than other cheeses.
Last night I made an Alfredo sauce (HWC, cream cheese, parmesan cheese, butter and garlic) that was quite tasty and had 29 grams of fat, 4 proteins and 1 carb (270+calories for a scant 1/3 cup). Of course I had it over chicken (protein) but it did make a great fatty sauce. Plus I added 1 Tbsp on MCT oil for more fat.
Oils can be added to spicy sauces (such as a curry) without altering the taste if you desire to keep your fat/calories up.7 -
@kpk54 that sounds right up my alley with the alfredo sauce! Thanks for sharing that3

Usually, if you're over on protein and short on fat, it's because your protein sources are too lean.
Make sure to go easy on the turkey and chicken breast, and plain tuna. Dark meat, 80/20 hamburger, etc. Unless you need/are trying to get 80% fat (which, unless you're doing it for medical reasons, you probably don't need that high a percentage), just doing that should put you pretty close to where you need, and you can make up the rest with things like butter and mayo.4 -

As @kpk54 says, Mascarponeis pretty fantastic in any recipe that calls for milk, sour cream, cream cheese, etc. (Great blended with hot espresso for a chitoccino )
Also macadamias, if you're a nut case.3 -
Avocado oil makes REALLY tasty dressings, and it can withstand up to 500F degrees cooking before any smoking, so it's also great (and mild) cooking oil. You usually don't get that versatility with olive oil, which, since it's more grassy/bitter, is best for salads/cold dishes.
I love mascarpone, too, but it is hard to find inexpensively around these parts.
Gournay cheese is another fave of mine (Alouette and Boursin are brands that come to mind) and great for spreading on cucumber and celery.
Full-fat feta cheese is a GREAT source of fat (6 g per ounce, 4.2 g saturated fat, low PUFA, 1.3 g monounsaturated fat, 25 mg cholesterol) and my fave for salads and mixing with full fat sour cream, red wine vinegar, dill, a little oregano, and garlic, for a homemade tzatziki sauce.
You may also like macadamia nuts, walnuts, or pistachios, but of course, in moderation. Macadamias are my fave for the perfect amount of fat and less protein.3 -
Oh, and don't forget, pure dark chocolate and high-fat cocoa (Dutch process)!2

What does gournay cheese taste like? Have you heard of Krema brand yogurt? I've heard it's like cheesecake tasting and a great source of fat. All your suggestions are so helpful thank you so much! I wanna try new things and I love creamy sauces and dips and cheese @bjwoodzy1

I've never considered espresso and mascarpone....intrigued. Google says this combo won a barista contest a couple of years ago.
