sometimes It becomes very difficult for me to see my friends eating whatever and how much they want.....I feel pissed off and lonely.... Eating "healthy" :( for eternity is tougher than army training.. I guess

Hi there. Totally get what you are saying.

2+ years ago I decided that I needed to get healthier. BUT, the journey has been an uphill battle all the way. I take baby steps to eating healthier, exercising more, and working on finding healthier ways to deal with my emotions/stress. I've learned that if I choose to have dessert or another treat, I compensate for it by moving more and choosing less calorie-dense foods for my main meals that day. It balances out the higher calorie dessert, I don't feel deprived while my friends are having dessert/treats, and I don't feel the guilt I used to feel before I started this life.

Does it always work perfectly? No, I'm not perfect at doing this (not by a long shot!). That's why I joined this group. I am an emotional eater. Whether happy, sad, lonely, stressed, bored, etc., I eat!

Hopefully, we can encourage one another and share info about what works. Eating healthier, exercising more, living a life that's more rewarding to me are all worth it and I try to remember it's a lifelong journey and to be kinder to myself along the way when I have not-so-good days.

As for eating healthy being tougher than army training; perhaps you're right. Choosing good-tasting, filling, healthy foods makes it less like punishment and more like an enjoyable experience. Peace, my friend.
