Hi all!

I'm new to the group. Diagnosed with fibro after getting sick in Feb 2016; diagnosed in September 2016. It hit me hard and fast, but I lost 36 lbs due to being so sick. I'm taking that as my jumpstart and refuse to let this beat me. Any tips or tricks to help? I went from walking 30min to an hour daily to barely being able to walk. My husband is getting me a gym membership so hopefully I can ride the bike or use the treadmill to start out! Thanks!

WTG, @zenaree! Sorry I haven't been on this group for a little bit. Most of us with FM tend to not be as active (physically, and on the keyboard, lol) as we used to be. Here's more info on Post-Exercise recovery: https://youtube.com/watch?v=8CnFo7qinng&mc_cid=460f2f755c&mc_eid=44a254b5fc

AND... a whole bunch of studies (legit published in medical journals) on FM... probably more than your GP, Rheumatologist, or Pain Management Specialist even knows about. Do as much as you can comfortably but don't push to overdo it or you will knock yourself back for many days. You are welcome to friend me. I was a Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer/Physio Rehab Assistant before I got sick and was diagnosed with FM. I do a lot less now, but still quite a bit more than when I was first diagnosed. More info on my profile if you wish. I like to exercise in the water (Aquacize and Deep Water Running) that way it is easy to adjust my workouts incrementally to how I feel that day. Cycling is good too if you don't have tender point issues with the seat
