Snacking the healthy way

Options
Having a snack can help keep you energized between meals if you find your energy fading. The key is to choose healthy snacks. Try these tips for healthier snacking:
• Make it a snack, not a meal. Aim for about 150 calories.
• Make a list of your 5 favorite snack foods. Then find a healthier alternative for each item. For instance, try baked sweet potato fries instead of French fries. Or swap potato chips for crunchy carrots and hummus.
Eat from a bowl or plate. To stop yourself from overloading on a single snack, don’t eat from the bag. Put one serving in a small container and then put away the bag.
