"Normal" blood sugar range-food for thought

I was listening to ketovangelist episode 75 featuring Eric Westman the other day. About midway through, there were some brief comments on his part saying that the blood sugar range we currently accept as normal are based on people eating the SAD. He said he would like to see studies on people who have been keto adapted long term. He speculated the range might have a lower end and a higher end for keto people then the numbers currently accepted. Context is everything.

Good point. There are plenty of areas where the rules don't translate well - and those are just the ones we know about.
Low end - Phinney and Volek reported on asymptomatic BGs down into the 40s (if not 30s?) in one of their research projects.
High end - I'd like Patron Silver.... Er, diabetes experts warn against accepting the ADA's upper limit of (abby-) "normal" as being high enough to increase the risk of diabetes-related health woes.
OGTT - If you give a T2D a fasting glucose-tolerance test, the spike would be sharp enough to pierce the most jaded politician's backside. Apparently, it's necessary to do a carb reintroduction ("carbs, meet my new carbophobic body") for several days for the OGTT to come close to what it might have been had you not swerved into keto.
It would be nice to have reliable, separate sets of guidelines for discrete subpopulations based on research already funded and completed, but it would at least be a start to step on it to hasten their arrival.
