Hi! I'm Jaz, 32, in school and struggling to stay active. Sadly I gained lots of weight due to school and I'm really trying to find the motivation to be healthy and exercise more often this year. I got the new fitbit surge and ready to move!

The Fitbit Surge is a great model. I had the Fitbit One for awhile, then switched to the Surge when it first came out. I now have a Garmin Fenix 3 HR for even better data, better battery life, and more customization and connectivity options. My only complaints with the Surge were battery life and smartphone connectivity. Most of the smartphone features didn't work when it came out. Fitbit promised fixes for months, but some of the patches impaired one of the only functions that worked with my phone. Fitbit insisted everything had been fixed, but they were wrong. Also, I never used the GPS because it didn't last long enough to be worthwhile. The Fitness tracking features, HRM, and social platform were pretty good, though. And that is why I stuck with it for so long.

So what are you studying? I finished up my MBA in Corporate Financial Management in October 2016 and hope to not take another degree ever, lol. With the exception of the first 2 years of college right out of high school, I've always worked at least FT while working on my degrees. During those first 2 years, I worked PT. During the last 2 years of my undergrad, I worked a FT job, 2 PT jobs, and did some contract work on the side. After taking several years off, I decided to try to start losing weight and getting fit in Jan. 2014, when I started working on the MBA. Since then, I've gotten a promotion at work, have graduated, and I'm now almost to my goal weight.

Anyway, welcome to the group! Feel free to send me a friend request if you would like.
