Found What Looks Like a Decent Commercial Bone Broth

I've seen various mentions of bone broth around this forum. Granted that home-made is almost always better than commercial, I am still not highly motivated to make my own bone broth. While I have the time and the slow cooker, I never have the bones. Today at Costco, I found this:

http://www.pacificfoods.com/food/broths-stocks/bone-broths/organic-bone-broth-chicken.aspx

Costco's price was $18.99 for a six-pack of 32 ounce boxes. One cup: 1 carb gram, 9 grams protein. (45 calories if that's how you roll.) No weird ingredients listed on the box.

It's "no salt added" so even with the reported onion, tomato, carrot, celery, cider vinegar and rosemary extract it's a trifle bland. But we know what to do about THAT.

I've used their stocks before to make soups, and was happy with the results. I'll have to look for the bone broth next time.

Costco chicken stock is my go to when I am out of my homemade bone broth. I saw some chicken bone broth at King Soopers (Kroger owned chain) and it was EXPENSIVE. So I just use the stock if I am out of bone broth. I now have some collagen powder I can add to anything if that is why I am using chicken stock. But I use it as a base for my cauliflower and leek soup all the time.

Sounds good, but I think now that the name 'bone broth' is a thing they charge more for it.... Any organic meat broth that says beef & its juices or chicken & its juices IS already bone broth (because bones are cheap and technically were scrap so they were always used for real broths - canned/jarred/boxed). Too bad they think they can charge outrageous prices.

I think I've seen that brand at my store before.
I do make my own broth but I go through it so fast that I'd have to have a batch cooking every few days to keep a constant supply. So I end up going weeks without any between batches.
My daughters both absolutely love it! Which is great and I want to provide it more often. I may have to get some of these for the in between times.
    Thanks for sharing!

I got and love it! I don't have time to make bone broth at home. I think the one at my Costco is a little different because it is organic 'chicken stock' and does have sea salt in it.
I heated up a cup with 1 tsp butter and nu-salt added. Yummy yummy.
