Reactive Hypoglycemia

I've seen this term a few times now in this group and others. So I've done a bit of research and it sounds like I may have bouts with this myself. I'm about 2 years post-op and still get that light-headed "blah" type feeling where I just want to lie down. And it seems to have been more frequent past 6 months or so. I've tried to nail down when it happens and it seems to be when I eat too many carbs without protein/fat to go with it. So, needless to say, I've tried to change some habits to avoid eating carbs alone.

Just wondering what other peoples experiences are with this? And does it ever go away?

I still get it when I eat too many carbs too, and after 3 1/2 years it hasn't gone away. I just take it as a reminder to keep my food choices in check.

I'm 9 1/2 months out and it happens when I eat too many carbs or sugar. Hoping it eventually goes away but I look at it as a signal as to what I shouldn't eat.

Jen, I've dealt with it for years. I have to make sure I have some kind of protein with every meal/snack. I cannot eat carbs alone. Nope.

I still have to learn my lesson - I am pretty good. It's some days that get me
