Carb Back Loading thoughts?

I wish MFP's searching capabilities were a little more granular for searching on topics in the forums. I like this group as I feel the moderators know what they are talking about. So my question has to do with carb back loading... not that I am looking into doing this anytime soon (I am currently following the last advice SideSteel gave me and plan on doing this for the foreseeable future), but the information I've read on it is interesting and want to know your thoughts and opinions on the matter for future reference.

Thanks.

There is some compelling, but not conclusive, evidence that suggest that carb backloading *may* have a small benefit to weight loss.

However, this comes down to the usual - eating in a way that allows the best gym performance and the best adherence far outweighs any possible small advantage in manipulating nutrient timing imo.

I have not actually seen any evidence that the actual CBT protocol, rather than just simple eating more of your carbs at night, is beneficial. I have asked for studies that show it's benefits when this topic has come up in the main forums and have never actually been provided with anything, so I am very skeptical.

In any event, it gets back to the point I make above re gym performance and adherence.

I think that the general priority with carbohydrate timing should be maximizing performance and adherence.

If eating the bulk of your carbs at night is what accomplishes this, then I would say do it.
    If not, dont.

That's really the extent of my opinion on it, at least right now.
