If you make this one, definitely use skin on chicken. I made bone in skin on thighs and they were to die for. Made skinless breasts for my fat hating husband and it was super bland. It's like not even the same recipe. Thighs were AMAZING!!0 -
Bear chicken or Beer Chicken? Bear Can Chicken I call it. My husband makes Beer Can Chicken. A rub of equal parts of paprika, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Rub a little oil on a cleaned whole chicken then coat inside and out with the rub. Plunk the chicken (butt first) over an open can of beer, set on the grill and cook til done.
I'm sure one could leave out the sugar but I don't really like/eat chicken skin (gasp) so I don't worry about it. I've made it in the oven before and it really is not as good as on the grill. They make a 1 piece, inexpensive apparatus especially for beer can chicken for use on a grill which eliminated the difficulty in balancing the chicken upright.
I don't know about bear chicken but BEER chicken is delicious!

Yum, that recipe sounds good @Kirstie155. I have a package of chicken thighs in the freezer and will probably try this out this weekend.1

Just saved this in my recipes. I have got to try it. On a side note, when importing it into MFP, for both the softened butter and the softened cream cheese, it inserted stool softener.4
