Skin Surgery

My WLS doc said at my 2yr post op appointment that I am a good candidate for skin removal called a Trunkplasty/Panniculectomy. My insurance will pay if medically necessary, and it is due to constant infection with the skin flaps. Has anyone done this surgery? If so, how did it go? Did it help? Any info is appreciated. Thanks

My wife has inquired about this procedure as her primary care physician said it was medically necessary. Same issues with chaffing and such. Our insurance company denied it twice now. Doesn't look like they will go for it.

From the people I know who have had it, it does relieve the chronic chaffing and infections for those who get them. And of course, the hanging excess skin is no longer a problem. There is scarring naturally. Sorry I cannot be of more help.
