Has anyone done this? If it helped, how long did it take to see improvements?

My autoimmune attacks dropped like a rock within 30 days after I stopped eating sugars and any form of grains.

Welcome to MFP forums and best of success.

I'm interested. I went keto, but my problems started after I was already grain and sugar free. Anyone do an autoimmune protocol like AIP or some other and have experience to share?

Not personally. I do have a girlfriend who does AIP and with some other treatments has seen an amazing reduction in her RA symptoms. Literally life changing for her.

Low sugars seems to help me. Grains are horrible but I'm a celiac sooo... nevermind. ;)

TBH, I have not noticed a large difference in autoimmune issues while keto. It gets better with low sugar, and WAY better grain free, but I don't think my autoimmune issues have got any better than that. In fact, my thyroid took another hit this fall and I upped my natural dessicated thyroid again... I think I've gone PAST a full replacement dose now, and I still have my thyroid. LOL

I have never followed the AIP very strictly before though. There was a time when I had no nuts, dairy or eggs for about a year, but adding those foods back made no difference as far as I could see. That's just me though. :)
