I'm seriously hungry the last couple of days which I haven't been in a long time. Craving cottage cheese and seafood of all things....Could be worse I guess...TOM is two weeks away so can't be that lol.... :)

Now that I have been LCHF for 2.5 years I now eat my cravings since they fit my macro typically. I know with livestock cravings can highlight special needs that the body has.

We we got the daughter and wife some mini horses a few years ago I noticed one old mare was drooling and was eating dirt when we went to look at them. I expected there had been a salt block there at some point in time.

I told my daughter we needed to get some mineral blocks on the way home. That mare stayed at that large mineral block for about a week hours at a time. I was starting to second guess myself but when ahead and put out the second block. It lasted for a very long time however.

When we are eating the macro that is right for us I think our cravings may come from intelligences long since forgotten as being natural. Yes sometimes the calories run high but I do not count except by weighing myself every day.

You may be craving because you are deficient in something those foods will provide. They are healthy foods so it won't hurt to enjoy a little more of them. Also, I find that I am more hungry the 2 or 3 days when I ovulate as well as just before TOM. I eat enough to satisfy without going crazy and usually it is followed by a few days where I am not hungry and eat 1000 cals a day or less. Last time I unintentionally followed hungry days with a 24 hour fast, I just wasn't hungry and was busy enough that I didn't realize I hadn't eaten anything until it was bed time. I figure it all balances out in the end as long as we are mindful about what we eat.

Definitely could be...Was trying to figure out what the connection between the two was, but maybe I have more than one deficiency...

I've been extra hungry... well craving... the past 2 days too. Definitely eating when not actually hungry. I'm craving meat and cheese though which is pretty much all I eat anyway so it's just weird. I'm not craving anything I don't already eat every day. I just want more even though I'm not hungry.
Today I sat down to nibble on a tsp of Celtic sea salt thinking it was a sodium thing. Then I ate a large pickle, then I drank some water. When I still wanted meat and cheese 30 minutes later, I finally had just a little. Then within an hour I was cooking dinner and ate my whole meat portion then too. I'm not hungry! Go away food!!! Lol

Retracement of health symptoms was a new term to me that I ran across when researching what was going on in my body due to LCHF. Stock market investors know this term.

It is not black magic and I was at first put off by the term but I knew it was going on after my new WOE. The more I learned about eastern medicine like acupuncture, etc retracement made more sense. Take or leaving it but I personally found while Eastern Medicine is different it can be valid however.

Fabulous blog a friend wrote here about why we want to eat when we're not hungry, beyond the emotional/boredom common implication.

Interesting.....I've been supplementing with magnesium for awhile now, but had to switch to a different brand since I discovered my stevia allergy, so I actually picked a blend that has Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Phosphorus, Zinc and a couple others I can't think of right now, so maybe my body was adjusting to the change.

Seem to be back to normal today, however I had a huge meat lover's omelet for breakfast which is not normal for me, but was having breakfast with hubby and daughter who are both off work and school today, so can't be hungry when I'm full of that....lol :)
