DUE SATURDAY BY MIDNIGHT EST:

I am not going to be able to move tomorrow...ballet and weights and hellfire and sprint ladder all done today. Thank goodness it was a holiday!
Chris0 -
I am sore and I can't do ballet...
Chris0 -
I am so sore also. I even ran on the treadmill yesterday at level 8 for 5 minutes. I must have been crazy stupid! I hate running. And then my lungs hurt and I was wheezing like I smoked a pack of cigs!
Chris you are rocking it! I would offer to give you a massage if we were closer.
Shell0 -
Thanks!! Shelley!! And Thank You! for the massage offer. That would be wonderful! Probably put me right to sleep!
I used to smoke. Glad I don't any more. I smoked when you were allowed to smoke in the hospitals and at work. Crazy!
Worked with our trainer today. Only have the video to do now. Tomorrow and Saturday. Friday is w/our trainer. **sigh**

Chris I smoked years ago also. And we could smoke in the building at work on our breaks and lunch. So glad I quit that nasty habit over 20 years ago! We have snow again. Hope everyone is ok.
I saw where a 56 year old woman jumped on the back of a guy attacking an officer! She was so heroic. Made me want to hug her. There are good and decent people still in our world.

I'm volunteering to be another massage test subject, if there is an opening. My cat had an awful cold where it seemed he could scarcely breath, and it was freaking me out and making me want to just go to sleep for a few years - from exhaustion and to escape.
Now he's getting better and life can go back to just crazy-normal.paula

Paula I so wish the news reporters would report more good news.
Sorry your kitty was feeling poorly. No sleeping for years though. You would have bed head for sure.
Shelley0 -
Shelley, I saw that story and thought she was very brave.
Paula, I hope your kitty is okay. Yeah, I would worry about the bed head, too. How are things going for you guys?

Is there a way to avoid shin splints? I get them really easily on hills and then it takes weeks to go away. Miss being able to stride with long strong steps.
Paula0 -
Paula, I found this...
Runner's World suggests a number of shin splint treatments, including the trace technique. To perform the trace technique, first sit on the floor. Trace the entire alphabet on the floor with one foot, then repeat with the other foot. Doing this exercise three times a day is an effective recovery method.
While the trace technique is an good shin splint treatment, there are a number of other exercises and treatments that can be used in the prevention of and recovery from shin splints. According to Runner's World, anyone who feels the first signs of shin splints should decrease the intensity of training or stop running altogether. The shin should be iced to reduce inflammation.
Runner's World also suggests that runners suffering from shin splits stretch their shins. To do this, first kneel on a carpeted floor. The legs and feet should be touching, and the toes should be pointing backwards. Then slowly shift weight into the calves and heels, so that the ankles are pushed into the floor. Hold this position for about 10 seconds, and then release.
I used to walk right through them. I just kept walking every day. They slowed me down a little but I wasn't going to stop walking. I would sit and rub them but that was about it.
One more round of Beater today...walking w/DH and playing w/Ronan while the kids work on their garage. A full happy day for me!!

Shin splints are horrid. I had them at the academy. I iced a lot! Mine also lasted for weeks. Running with them really stinks.
Worked my butt off this week getting in lots of workouts! Still working on the bathroom with hubby. It will be a few weeks before the tile for out counter top is here. Hate to special order things. But it was necessary.
Ice Paula ice.
Chris I remember when we did our garage. Tore down the old one, ripped out the concrete and started from scratch. Thank goodness for strong son and son in law!
Shell0 -
So ice, kneeling and alphabets, got i. thanks.
hope you're all doing well!
paula0 -
Alphabets? I so missed something. Oh wait, there it is. Trace the alphabet!
Looks like the gal that always got on my nerves here at work is not coming back. Good for me, not good for her. Early retirement due to some medical issue the doctors can not figure out. So I will be walking the floors more at work again.
