Hi everyone, I'm a newbie, thanks for adding me.

I've been doing CICO since December of 2015. Lost 35_40 pounds. That life style seems like it's my new normal which is great! However, I've been losing the same 5 pounds since October, ugh!! So I scrolled through my diary to figure out what else I could do to boost my weight loss and noticed my daily carbs on average is 150-180.. Per day!!

Gave it some thought..And now I'm here! Today is my first day with LC. Managed to eat less then 30, thought that wasn't too shabby for my first day. However I have a headache and have been very light headed all day. I read this will last a few days while detoxing from sugar.

Looking forward to trying the egg and cream cheese pancakes I read about on here, they sound amazing!!

Anyway, I wanted to introduce myself as another newbie and not just lurk.

Welcome ....Low carbers must up their sodium....You must have between 3000to 5000mg daily ,,,,most do this by eating dill pickles/drinking pickle juice....broth with beef or chicken bullion .....I personally drink water with MIO(flavored enchancer) and 1 tsp of morton lite salt ..I hope that helps

Welcome and congrats--you've come a long way! Getting your carbs down to under 30 is absolutely manageable. For now, up your water and salt intake (think pickles or broth) to try to get your body feeling better. There's absolutely an adjustment period and you've got to make some adjustments to boost salt/magnesium to get over the hump. Then, you'll see results. Glad to have you here!

Yep. If you're not on any sort of dietary sodium restriction for a health issue, up the salt. Here's a good link from our "Launch Pad" in the announcements:

LOL Yep. Some aound here like to drink pickle juice too. ;) LOL I just salt my water with a teaspoon of some sort of salt. If the headache and fatigue stays, add even more sodium.

    Welcome to the group. :)

Olives are another great source of sodium, I love them and probably eat way to many but it sure helps me keep my sodium in line.

Olives for me as well! They're one of my go-to snacks. I get Unico pitted black olives. Four of them are zero net carbs (1g carbs 1g fiber). Good source of sodium and fat.

I just salt some lemon water and call it good. There's no need to push through the headache and lethargy.

    Welcome!!

You don't have to eat pickles.....I don't. Some people just like them a lot and it's a good way to get sodium in for them. You can always just add extra salt to your meals or in your water. Whatever method works best for you. Good luck!

In a "previous life" I was on a low sodium diet for high blood pressure. I was elated when I started eating keto and could include high sodium foods like ham, shrimp, crab, sausage, beet greens, kielbasi, sauerkraut, hot dogs. LOL. I don't have these daily but certainly eat them. Especially shrimp.

ETA: I wasn't on BP meds and had normal BP when starting keto so this is not saying "go ahead eat salt" despite what your doc may say.

If you can get your sodium intake well above 3000mg as a very minimum, then olives will be enough for your added sodium. If you can't keep it up above that and keep symptoms away, then you will need something else
