Intermittent Fasting

Thanks to this wonderful place, I've been learning more and more about IF... think I might try to dedicate a day to fasting. I follow the mantra "eat when you're hungry" which is usually in the morning so the 16:8 doesn't seem like the right fit. Some of my fellow mfp'ers suggested skipping dinner, which I am inclined to do since I am not that hungry at night, but I afraid of my blood sugar dropping too low at night. (T2D). However, I do not know if this something I should really be concerned with since my blood sugar is very well controlled right now. Any ideas on this? Thank you all in advance!

As long as you're not on insulin, not racing back onto Glipizide or some other diabetes med that causes hypoglycemia, and have a few cubic angstrøms of body fat left, you shouldn't hit starvation mode or see BG crashes overnight!

Thanks @RalfLott! I figured it wouldn't do me harm but its so hard to get away from the brainwashing some doctors give you about low blood sugars when you are a diabetic lol. I feel the best I have in many many years so theres no going back to old way of eating but want to manage my carb creepage lol

I've heard drinking a small glass of undiluted vinegar every 5g of carbs will help with carb creep. Just sayin'....

    This is tue.

Fasting is safe. You have to lower some medication because fasting has the same impact as the medication. It's very beneficial for overeaters to learn what hungry is. You can get your vinegar in salad dressing. Olive oil, dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar and a little soy sauce makes a nice dressing.

Lots of diabetics who fast here: http://forum.lowcarber.org/index.php?
Might have to poke around a bit but there's some group chat-type threads that a variety of people participate in.

2ketodudes podcast has an excellent interview called Switching It Up with Megan Ramos, you might want to give that one a listen. She works in Jason Fung's medical practice, advising his patients how to do fasting of all sorts.
