Blood-work Results for Cholesterol

I am posting my blood-work results comparing last year to this year, I have been keto (25 grams or less carbs per day) since November 1, 2016 (4 months).
It is my personal belief that my LDL (Bad) Cholesterol) is up due to the fact that I have not been exercising. I already take a omega 3 supplement. I am considering raising my carbs to 30 grams in order to get some more green veggies in my diet, and see if I stay in ketosis.
However, my HDL (Good) Cholesterol has gone up and my Triglycerides have gone down
I have the ketone strips, but have never registered on them and I wanted blood work to check my ketone levels, but my doctor (NP) sees no reason to have it done since there were no ketones in my urine sample and there is nothing wrong with my kidneys....she doesn't get it. All in all I am very happy with the results.

Not much help here but i have read that weight loss alone can result an increase in LDL which will ultimately settle to your "normal" after a period of weight stability. I've not had a lipid panel since June of 2014 but my LDL was up from the previous year. In June 2014 I had just lost 60 pound, was exercising regularly and my wight loss diet was low cholesterol, low fat, low sodium, high fiber - typical diet suggested to a 60 year old with high blood pressure. I was eating lots of vegetables, legumes, egg whites, non fat greek yogurt and steel cut outs. Certainly not a ketogenic diet though it was on the high end of low carb. Supposedly it was the weight loss that "caused" my LDL increase not the food choices.2

Yep, doctor nor I are concerned since it is not that high. The panel before February wasn't bad either other than my Triglycerides were 149 and the doctor didn't say anything! 150 is considered high and I have a family history of heart disease, she's not the brightest of the bunch so it's a good thing I know how to research and fix some of my own problems....lol.2

LDL usually does go up on low carb but the particle size matters. Your test doesn't show particle size.
Low carb and keto tend to produce more HDL, which is good because its large and fluffy. But it also produces more of the larger, fluffier LDL (forget what it's specifically called). And tends to reduce the smaller, more dense LDL, which is the one of concern.
Besides that, the ratio between HDL and triglycerides is more of an indicator of potential risk and your ratio improved.
Not to mention lower total cholesterol really means nothing and is actually associated with a higher risk of all cause death than high total cholesterol is.
There's a lot of great cholesterol resources in the FAQ's.1 -
@marm1962 ...your theory is wrong. Just watch this short 3-4 minute youtube video with Dr. Stephen Phinney and he will explain very clearly and concisely what is going on in your body and why:
