Hi All. I'm new to the group, but we are starting to "not try to not get pregnant" and am looking for new friends to add along the way. Long story short, 5 years ago I was 302 lbs, got on the ball and dropped to 175 lbs in 2 years, then life happened and I regained nearly 100 pounds (ugh!). I've finally found a new focus and successfully starting losing again.

My father-in-law passed away in 2014, followed by my husband having a heart attack at 45 that summer (he is okay and doing great now), then I started a stressful job that was low pay, long hours and 6 weeks on the road a year; there is nothing like stress-eating while traveling to do you in! Last spring I quit the job and moved onto one less stressful and without extended travel, but my mother-in-law died that spring and we spent all year remodeling the house and without a real kitchen set-up. Bottom line, it's been a long few years as my husband is an only child, so getting his parents through their final years fell directly on our shoulders.

We finally got settled into our 90% completed house in December, or, nearly settled. We are still doing some unpacking, but it's mostly there. I have unsuccessfully tried to refocus on losing weight a few times in the last 6 months, but I struggled to stay on track while still living between two places and being on the run all the time. I've finally got my head on straight now I think!

Bottom line, I'm actively working on getting healthier while not really making any efforts to avoid pregnancy and seeing what happens. Ideally, I'd drop 50-60 pounds before conceiving but we're just seeing what happens this spring then shift to actively TTC in summer/fall if necessary.

In addition to just wanting to get healthier first we've got a few things next spring that keep us busy, so it helps us decide to maybe not actively try at this moment. I have a handful of beef cattle they calve in March and I breed them via AI in June. I could hire help but would prefer to do it myself unless otherwise occupied.

Anyhow, hoping to make some connections that can relate and keep making progress. The snow is melting and I'm anxious to get back out on some hikes with my husband. This may be the first summer in several we aren't so busy we can't even get off the farm on weekends.

@SheilAnneSmith Welcome to the group, we're glad to have you! =)

Sounds like it's been a rough couple of years, I certainly hope this year fairs better for both you and your husband!

I'm really looking forward to the warmer weather myself, I'm over the cold. haha

EDIT: Just saw that you saw the spreadsheet and joined so just taking that line out. haha

Welcome! I am fairly new to the group myself, but I have quickly found that these ladies are very helpful and supportive throughout both weight loss and ttc.

    Best of luck!

Thanks all! I look forward to joining in the conversations. I like the spreadsheet, it sure beats my printed calendar with information sprawled on it. Look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi ladies! I'm looking for new friends and motivators as well. I'm down a total of 63 pounds from my heaviest weight but I've recently reset MFP with a goal of losing 25 more before TTC. Could really use the support to shed this last bit of weight. Also, this will be my first pregnancy so if there's any mamas out there who have any words of wisdom my ears are wide open!
