Hi Team!
I'm trying not to sweat it, but while I'm getting the hang of killing the carbs out of my diet, I seem to be struggling with keeping my protein intake under control and getting my fat intake at the right levels...
just wondering how other LCHFers manage their macros?

The last few days I've really gotten my fat up and protein and carbs down by eatng a lot of ends and pieces bacon, keto desserts, olives, and avocados.

Argh, I'm the opposite. I can get fat in, but I'm struggling with the protein. I average about 80g but need another 20g. Fat wise, I have cheese, avocados, coconut oil, nuts and seeds.

I just do carbs as a 20 grams net hard limit (usually). Then my protein I make sure I hit. Fill the rest in with my fats that make me feel full. I don't worry about hitting that fat "number". As Sunny_Bunny_ says, as long as I'm not hungry all the time, if my body needs fuel it has it's own pantry ;)

Consider just getting your carbs to <50 grams daily at first. When you have that down move to keeping protein in the middle of the road based on your personal protein needs.

Divide and Conquer comes to mind. :)

Best of success. After 2.5 years of LCHF and reading daily my general health seems better at 66 than at 36. We are all different so try to not compare your case with others too much. Over time we can learn what works for us.

General guidelines -- ditch all low fat stuff. No milk less than whole, cream is ideal (unless you can get bona fide farm fresh, which is arguably most ideal, since it's not all separated like store bought). Trade skinless chicken breast for skin on and/or dark meat or different meat altogether, or accompany lean meats with a fat (cream sauce, butter, sour cream, etc). Pair all carbohydrates with a fat -- butter, cheese, etc on single vegetables, cream or oil based dressings on salads, avocado, coconut, etc.

The most common issue newcomers have, besides sodium, is breaking the "low fat" and "lean meat" habit. Once you break that habit, protein and fat should fall in line naturally, unless you are intentionally inflating or restricting protein.
