I am new to strength training. I want to know how much protein should I be consuming daily to help aid with building muscle? I am 242 pounds right now and I want to drop 100 of it. I just started taking lifting seriously.

Scoobyworkshop.com and IIFYM.com both have good basic calculators you can use. Of course many people tweak their macros based on goals. Mine is set at 40% protein, but I'm trying to gain muscle.0

I set mine for 1g per lb of LBM, in my case that is around 120-130g per day, then i tweak my % to be as close to that as I can.0
