Hello, I am extremely addicted to sugar. I can't control myself and it makes me feel terrible. After dealing with years of depression, anxiety, and now failing college. I have had it, but every time I start something I fall off because no one that I know, actually knows how to be supportive. I'm hoping that posting this would bring in some people that can help me to get started on finally kicking this addiction!!!!! I am done!~

Hi amm758 I am addicted too. I have been doing low carb and having nasty symptoms didn't know what it was until now and had a huge chocolate blowout. So here are the symptoms we can expect.
    Common Sugar Withdrawal Symptoms:

    feeling lightheaded
having sugar cravings (and possible moments of binge eating)
    anxiety
    depression
    headaches
    moodiness, irritable
    tiredness
    muscular aches

So anxiety and depression will get worse before it gets better it can take 8 weeks to get it fully out of your system you will be cranky, tired, feel like crap but according to those who have done it then you get the breakthrough and feel better for some it has happened in 2 weeks for others a month you just have to stick it through. Ready because I am.

I am also addicted to sugar. I am diabetic. So the guilt is intense. I find my sugar habit has a pattern. I can avoid cakes, candy, etc. during my work day. I do eat fruits - berries and oranges. The oranges are what I call "nature's candy". But as soon as I get in my car and start driving home from work, I start thinking about what sweet I will eat when I get home. Do I need to stop at store and buy some? Two weeks ago I bought a ridiculous amount of candy and ice cream and proceeded to chow down. Not surprisingly I gained 5 pounds. I threw out the candy. I still have the ice cream and ate it last night. Point: I think the answer is to substitute fruit. And jello with whipped cream is a low cal option. Do you guys have any tricks you use to help break the habit?
