It started out so innocent my hubby and I done a part kitchen renovation on saturday well I got really sore by yesterday and I have been doing minimal exercises eg exercise bike, walking (weather permitting) and squats.
Well today cause I hadn't slept that much last night my hubby put ice gel on my shoulder which is good now but the pain at the top of my neck is unreal any suggestions. I have been told that I have had a possible bad trauma to caused to the top of my neck and the so called professionals reckon it was caused by a car accident but I have never been in a car accident which I have told them.

But does anyone have any ideas for this neck pain the ice gel isn't working might have to take strong pain killers yet and that is just so I can get some sleep but the only thing wrong with them is that they make me sleepy and tired all day

  • :flowerforyou: I have early onset degeneration in the vertebrae at the top of my neck. I was diagnosed in my early 20's (50 now). When it's playing up I get, at best headaches and at worst pins and needles down my arm with smashing headaches. I do a range of exercises, avoid full sit-ups (my hands tend to reef my neck as I lift!) and as soon as I feel headachy I get straight to my physio...
I find a heat pack excellent to soothe, calm and ward off any twinges that may develop into something nasty. I have a lovely one that is scented, shaped for my neck and is bliss.
I also have a frozen rotator cuff which impacts on my neck (skiing!).......again exercises, no above head weight lifts, no dips and the heat pack!!
Massage is also good for me for both issues.
I find that if I keep on top of both injuries they don't impact too much on me.
I would suggest that if the pain doesn't get better go to a good sports physio.
    Good luck.
