This is International Dark Sky Week.
I don't make this stuff up. If it weren't for nights and really nasty storms, the sky might never get dark, and we couldn't watch submarine races or go to the endangered species, drive-in theaters with our lovers. How would we know when to go to bed, or get up? We wouldn't have headlights to show blonds which end of the car is the front.
This is National Library Week.
Time to commemorate the original Google with party poppers and party horns. The librarians will love you for it.

It's one day a year. Get that one sister/brother you can't stand on the phone, or better yet drive to her/his home no matter how far. Tell her/him that it's been too long, that too much water has run under the bridge and you truly miss beating the crap out of her/him.

Don't you love things that are pronounced differently, dependent on where you were born, where you now live, or just to annoy that snob in the next cubicle?
