I'm so happy to be here! I'm not new to LCHF, although I had strayed, started gaining weight and 30lbs later realized that this is how I need to live in order to feel and look my best. So my re-start date was April 4th, I'm over the I feel like death part and starting to get my energy back and sleeping much better. I've lost 6lbs and an inch in my waist, hips and chest. So I got rid of the bloat from the nasty carbs.
I look forward to getting to know everyone. I didn't want to just jump right in without introducing myself. I'm a 52 years old, married to my high school sweetheart for 32 years, we have two daughters who are married with families of their own. We also have 2 grand daughters and another TBD grand baby expected in late October. I work out 3-4 times a week and now that the weather has warmed up I walk about 3 miles daily. I track with MFP and sync with my Fitbit. Both tools I find very helpful.

Hi there... welcome. The posts stuck to the top have a ton of good info.
I don't remember Atkins addressing electrolytes in his books, so this one may be really useful to you to start.

Although Atkins was mentioned, you don't have to be following it to get the "low carb flu" or "keto flu." Since you mentioned feeling poorly during the transition, it is likely your electrolytes are out of balance. Those of us who were lucky enough to know to increase sodium in particular prior to the change over manage to avoid that nastiness.0 -
Gotcha, I was confused by the mention of Atkins. Yes I had been through the before, it wasn't nearly as severe as it was previous times. Why oh why do I not stay with what I know works? Hopefully now that I have found a supportive community I will stay the course I know works for me!
Thank you all for welcoming me! I have learned so much already from reading through these posts. What a great group!0 -

I am new here too! Hello all!
Be sure to read the sticky threads on Low Sodium (or the thread @food_lover16 posted above) and the LCD Launch Pad. Lots of great info and insights!0 -
Sorry. I think there were two threads about someone being new. The other one mentioned Atkins.... when I jumped back to get the link, I put it in the wrong thread... but the link still applies even if you are doing another LCHF plan. Now I need to go find the thread with the new person doing Atkins, but I'm sure someone would have brought up the electrolytes to them by now too.2
