Hi Everyone!
I'm really new to LCHF. Like maybe 3 weeks. I'm so glad to find this group! I want to get my weight and my diabetes in check.
In the past 3 weeks I've lost 3kgs or 6.5 lbs.
At first I was staying under 75 carbs a day for the first two weeks and then I read, if you want to lose weight you should give 20grams a try. IMAGINE my shock OMG that's not possible. Well, it is, and what an amazing thing, less carbs means less hunger!! I'm not craving food all the ding dong day! I'm satisfied. My first two weeks I lost about a pound a week, the last week I lost 4 lbs.
So far, all I've been counting are net carbs and I've been keeping them below 20 net each day. This morning I was noticing that people count protein and fat as well. I'll have to learn how to do that. There is a bit of a learning curve here I guess.
If anyone can point me to some good recipes.
Thanks for having me!

Welcome. I "cut and pasted" the list below from the "Launchpad" in this forum. As you can see there are many sites for low carb options. More highly valuable information can be found if you look at the very top of the main page and click on "Low Carb Daily Forum....The LCD Group". It may tell you everything you need to know AND it has a section for Diabetes. Good luck!

Hi, also new myself. I've done Atkins before and lost a lot of weight, but then gained it back. It seems the new Atkins was too high carb, or maybe my body absorbs the sugar alcohols that come in the bars and shakes. I did the prepared food diet they had on their site, but instead of having it delivered, just picked up the Atkins meals, bars and shakes at Walmart. The problem was after 2 weeks I gained a few pounds. When I first did the old Atkin's the 1990's book, the weight came off fine.
I lost 2 pounds in a day, doing the low carb and following the calories. They just dropped the calories after the second day. I'm going to try that and see if that will help me quicker. I'd like to lose 2 pounds a week. I lost more than that the first time on Atkins.
Thank you kpk54 for the list. I found a couple of those some time back and their recipes are great. I'm going to copy the list and do some searching. It's great to have variety in any diet. And those people go through a lot of work to make the recipes taste great and be low carb.0 -

New Atkins for a New You is a solid keto guide written by keto gurus.
The companion cookbook, however, is littered with Atkins bars, shakes, etc!0
