My point above is also that while we have moved on amazingly from yesteryear, there seem to be so many more problems associated with diets. Lactose intolerance, coeliac disease, peanut allergies, diabetes.... these afflictions have affected more and more people dramatically, and the rise in such conditions has been breathtaking.
It can't be an accident or coincidence that all these issues began to explode, when we were convinced into purchasing food that was processed for us.... now that we are so much more conscious and aware of what we are eating, trends are changing yet again.....

But it's the food industry that seems to want to keep us in their grip and call the shots.....

I have read and also followed Wheat Belly. In his books he talks about when you reintroduce wheat back into your system after not having had it for some time, you can have a severe reaction. Whether it be digestive, headaches, skin rash, etc. I can confirm this from personal experience. Dr Davis feels everyone has a sensitivity to wheat and no one should be eating it in any form. His book "Wheat Belly Total Health" has the most up to date info.

    Hope you find your answers!

I checked out Wheat Belly and you know I think my 8 week blood sugar protocol was very similar: I kept my non-wheat grains like quinoa to .25c or none; and my net carbs below 50g. Subsequently, I had a dramatic reaction when I re-introduced some wheat. Now I know from all of you to be very patient and let my insides heal. Info is power. Small is beautiful. Spring brings new beginnings. Many thanks everyone!

In the days of specialty shops there was generally a housewife in most homes. With two working parents it would be pretty tough to shop daily. Also, people HAD to shop more when there were fewer refrigerator and less cabinet space.

Just my observation, but many if not most Europeans still shop every couple of days at specialty stores or markets and most European homes don't have the huge pantry/kitchen storage space or large fridges of North America (many I've seen are only the size of hotel room fridges, under the counter, or at most what we might call apartment sized fridges).
It can still be done; granted, it takes a bit more preparation to figure out the schedule. My husband & I both work and we do it.
